Is this about PM or Smash 4 ?
Because I can't really support this project if it's about Smash 4, seeing as I'm perfectly happy with the way it turned out.
You see, Sakurai has one trait to his game design philosophy that is extremely rare and all the more valuable in today's video game industry : he does not like to make sequels. Nintendo has repeatedly asked exactly that of him, and he's put his heart and soul into making sure that each game in a franchise under his responsibility was as different from the previous iterations as possible.
And I couldn't thank him enough for that. We truly need a man like him on Nintendo's highest selling games. A man who favors quality over quantity.
The thing is we're competitive players. We're the kind of gamers who'd very much like to play the same game for 20 years if people let us. We're the only ones who are actually asking for sequels. We are the 1%.
And as far as I'm concerned, I already have the sequel I wanted with Project M. If I was to make any critique about Nintendo's policies and business decisions, it'd be on the way they're treating Project M and Melee, not Smash Wii U. As a competitor consumer, what I want to throw money at is Project M and Melee HD, they're just not letting me.
So if that's what you're going for, I'm not going to be contributing. But feel free to proceed without me, I'm just a guy with a different opinion.
