Hello everyone!

I am hoping this thread will generate some interest from those who play Smash Bros in Ireland/NI. With the recent successful re-launch of the Smash scene in the UK, it has inspired a few of us here in NI who are unable to make it out to the tournaments in the likes of England to build and grow a scene here in Ireland.

The objective? To try a generate a Smash scene across Ireland. With this in mind we have set up a Facebook group page for those who want to organise events, smashfest and tournaments. We have also set up a YouTube Channel and a Twitch account just in case we are ever able to make or stream tournaments or smashfests. As a community, we would want everyone to play and enjoy all of the Smash games available. Yes, this includes Brawl.

Please if you are a Smash player in Ireland make the effort to join the page to get the ball rolling. We really want to generate excitement across Ireland to create a Smash scene.

Wish you the best of luck with this, hopefully you manage to get a active scene going.

Will there be Smash 64?
There's always a place for Smash 64. Once we have enough people within the group, we will try to gauge interest as to what Smash games people are interested in playing.

I'm just after sending a request to join the group on FB there.

If we want any sorta tourney scene to get big, we could always try and get one organised through The RAGE. They're a big enough platform to get these sorta things advertised. They hosted a Mario Kart 64 tournament and the turnout was pretty feckin' big.

I'd be very glad to help get this ball rolling!

Thanks for the suggestion. Never heard of The RAGE, but from what I've seen it looks like a cool place. Would they host a Melee/Project M tournament?

Not sure if I'm entirely correct but from what I know, they hosted a games convention/competition thing. Anyway, Melee was one of the games and they seemed to be quite professional about it. Videos of results from matches can be seen here:

I've been to Dragonslayers in Belfast once. Really good turnout of Smash players for both Melee and Project M. Worth looking into further.
