I asked a friend who's father works at Nintedo Europe who is a distant cousin of a guy named Reggie who also asked Reggie if Ridley is in Smash4 which resulted in Reggie asking some japanese guy named Iwata while Iwata asked another japanese guy who made the Kirby series who's named Sakurai who asked his twinsilbling who is the creator of SmashBros. The result was that Sakurai laughed and told that his sibling said that Ridley is too big.
-> it's confirmed that Ridley is not in Smash4.

It has been leaked from unknown sources that Sakurai is planning to bring back all the cut and planned characters from Melee and Brawl, respectively. So we will be seeing Dr. Mario, Pichu, Roy, Mewtwo (no, his X/Y forme will not be shown now), and Young Link in the reveal trailer.

Exactly a month later, i.e. on July 11th, the planned Brawl characters: Toon Zelda/Tetra, Plusle+Minun, Mewtwo's new forme and Dixie Kong will be revealed.

I have a friend whose half-brother's father's cousin works for Nintendo and, during one of his travels to Japan, he heard in a radio interview with Sakurai that Toon Link, Ike and Lucario have been replaced by Dark Pit, Tharja and new form Mewtwo, which, according to this very trusted source, is called Éclair Form.

Also, Sakurai was asked if Ridley was in and he laughed stating a vague answer whether or not he was in playable form. When asked why were those characters were replaced, he stated that Dark Pit and Tharja were in due to the figurines they got and it seems that SSB4 pre-orders will receive all Nintendo character figmas (Link, Samus, Pit, Dark Pit and "Marth"), Tharja's figurine and a brand-new Captain Falcon action figure based on his SSB4 look.

The game's title in Japanese is Dairantou Sumasshu Burazazu UX for the Wii U version and Dairantou Sumasshu Burazazu TX for the 3DS version. When asked about the trailer, Sakurai stated "it's a secret to everybody."

Regarding new characters from retro franchises, Sakurai told the interviewer "to expect lots of long forgotten characters" and mentioned Takamaru and Mach Rider as two of the newcomers. Marth will return, but it's actually the masked Marth from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Captain Falcon and Luigi will be default instead of unlockables, the latter's change is confirmed by Sakurai to be related to the Year of Luigi.

There is a rumor floating around said to come from a member who works in Sakurai's team for Super Smash Bros 4 which confirms the following things about the upcoming game.

Its name will be Super Smash Bros Dimensions.

The following characters will show up in Sakurai's new trailer: Mario, Link, Pikachu, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Samus, Fox, Pit, Palutena, Balloon Fighter, King. K. Rool and Pac Man.

The following stages will show up in Sakurai's new trailer: a Brand new Skyworld stage, a Donkey Kong Country Returns stage and Starship Mario.

A Brand new feature will be revealed in the trailer where the characters can now jump between three layers in the battlefield which gets demonstrated in the new Donkey Kong Country Returns stage having three layers of areas for characters to fight in.

The Pegasus Wing's from the Kid Icarus series is a brand new item which allows the characters to glide as well as having multiple jumps. This gets demonstrated in the new Skyworld stage.

Well, the downside of the character is that since he has so many weapons the weight makes him trip every couple seconds. Normally he'd be able to get up and keep fighting, but he has to run and pick up all the weapons he dropped before he can continue. Gotta balance him, you know how it is.

Hmmm...i dunno about you guys..but so far out of all the rumors i believe this one the most.

Pac-Man will be the new god-tier. He does not jump, he does not have any specials, he does not take knockback, and he has stamina points instead of damage percentage.

He can move anywhere in the 2D space at will, similarly to his famous arcade game, and has only one attack, called "chomp", which can be performed without slowing down. It has max priority and cannot clash with other attacks, only overpower them. With chomp Pac-Man can eat projectiles, any item (including smash balls, which simply vanish), and other, much more powerful things, like hyperbeam from Pokemon, Samus' Zero Laser, and even Pig Ganon, if the player times it right.

Chomp deals 40% damage on enemy characters - if, by some miracle, the player manages to miss with the enormous disjointed sweetspot hitbox. Any competent player will be able to easily sweetspot the move, which will then deal 100% damage and impart knockback similar to Marth's final smash. Chomp has no endlag, meaning the player can rapidly mash the attack button to chew opponents all the way up to 999% before letting the knockback take effect. Just for fun.

Getting some new info coming in from a behind-the-scenes, anonymous source who managed to meet with a pre-E3 Nintendo showcasing as a member of a small audience. Says that big announcements will be made at E3. Apparently there will be many cuts.

Peach will be replaced by Rosalina.
Bowser will be replaced by Bowser Jr.
Ganondorf will be replaced by Demise.
Sheik will be replaced by Impa.
Marth and Ike will be replaced by Lucina and Chrom. They have the exact same movesets as their predecessors.
Lucario will be replaced by Mewtwo, who will in turn be replaced by his X/Y new form.
Pokemon Trainer will return in a different form: controlling the starters from Generation VI. Implied to include one from each stage of evolution. Not yet sure how this will be revealed, since Game Freak has not yet even unveiled the starters' evolutions.
Olimar will be replaced by Captain Charlie. The purple and white Pikmin are allegedly gone, having been replaced by the new rock and winged Pikmin.
Sonic and Snake are both returning, joined by some new third-party additions: Bayonetta, Chris Redfield, and young Heihachi Mishima.

When asked about the status of other veterans, a Nintendo representative suggested that Ness, Ice Climbers, Falco, Mr. Game & Watch, and ROB would be dropped. Additionally, he shot off a few names: specifically, Dillon, Shulk, Hades, Ghirahim, Tempo, Mii, and Monita, which he claimed were all "considered" and/or "possible" inclusions. There was no confirmation of Ridley's inclusion after an eager fan asked. However, the spokesperson tossed around Anthony Higgs from 2010's Metroid: Other M as a "possibility for Metroid fans". When asked about Luigi, he laughed, saying that Mario's brother would appear in the series' starting roster for the first time, citing the Year of Luigi as the reason.

Questioning of some of these choices resulted in the Nintendo representative giving the reasoning for these decisions as "Recency makes decency." When an audience member requested elaboration of this statement, he was told that "[only] games that came out in the last few years matter."

My dad's friend is a hacker, and recently hacked into Masahiro Sakkurai's computer.
Having searched all his files, he found a trailer and a document of all the characters and stages, and models too.
He says that Browser Jr. Is the new Mario rep. Ike will be replaced by Chrom from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Lucas will also be cut, alongside Toon Link and Falco. Instead, Young Link(M)(?) And Krystal will replace them. Lucario will be cut in favor of'Zoroark; Mew two will not return.
He also says that 10 new retro characters were added, like Balloon Fighter, Lip, Takamaru, and Urban Champion.
Yoshi will also get another rep, "Someone no one saw coming."
New stages include Yoshi's Yarn, Skyloft, Flat Zone 3, Bottle Ship, and Distant Planet 2.
Back on characters, apparently Olimar will be replaced, and is now a PKMN trainer-esqe character, as you play as all 3 new captains. alph has Red, Blue, and Yellow, while Brittany has Purple and White. The third has rock And flying,

retro characters include the balloon fighter and the urban champion

e-shop is represented by tempo and mallo

other newcomers include shulk, chibi-robo and ashley robbins

the 3rd party characters are sonic, tails and professor layton

and a new mode called snadbag's revenge, where you play as sandbag and see how you send the playble characters with the home run bat

-The following characters will be newcomers, which one are suited best for the trailer in your opinion? Five characters should be reveiled, each from a small group ( Either Bowser Jr. , Toad, Kamek or Waluigi, then either Tingle, HorrorKid or Impa, then either Lucina or Lyn, then either K.K Rool, Porky, Marx (who is my favourite of those four) or this dragon guy from Metroid which I refused to include playable in Melee and Brawl and last either Bayonetta or Megaman. We made cutscenes for all those characters since we were bored, but Mr. Iwata said we shouldn't overdo it, so we have to cut some scenes out (but the characters stay, of course.)
Also, Roy and Mewtwo will return for Smash Bros Universe, with a slightly modified and improved moveset. Should we also announce them, despite them being unlockable just to increase the hype?

Always spawns 1 smash ball for every character playing and breaks itself onto you so you have to get it.
Every character's final smash will be the landmaster.
Landmaster doesn't wear off even if you die.
