I'm having trouble getting characters that get in your face away from me, what are the best options?

Lol, you cannot simply run away from a character like meta

I find the forward tilt to be rather useful.
And a lot of jabs. Lot's of em.

Jab -> Jab Cancel -> Down-Angled Forward Tilt works wonders. The jab out-prioritizes their attack and sets up for the tilt. The normal forward tilt just pokes at them, but one that is angled down kicks them away. Sets up for some stuff aswell.

I use it about a minute into this match. Love it! ^^ lol
I'll have to watch that video. Anyway, welcome to the Samus sub-forum, Gypsy.

I noticed you use the n-air in your attack pattern. Interesting. ^_^

Samus does poorly against MK. Aerials are hard to land on this guy. But as the others have said before, shield/dodge to jab/tilt/screw attack. Uncharged shots work well at a distance since they force MK to either shield or jump. If he jumps, you might be able to land an aerial. If he shields, you can keep applying more pressure until he dodges or somethng. After that, you might be able to find an opening. Also, platforms will help your game against MK immensely. Simply standing under one gives MK less options.

I use bombs. Instead of just laying them randomly though or spamming them I fight over or next to them. So if MK is trying to get in close I'll drop a bomb, stand next to it and go for a dtilt right before it goes off so the animation cancels her bomb jump. Or I'll drop two bombs next to each other, get behind the last one and start charging the CS. In this case he usually tries to jump over them and I'll react with either an aerial, a Utilt or a shield to UpB.

I'm still working it all out, but the bombs definitely helped. Before them if MK got in close I usually lost the exchange.
