Climbing

On a randomly small and unnoticed note, I don't remember this being in any of the other Smash games:

It's... a ladder...?

It seems as if climbing is a new feature in this game. Do you think it'll be limited to certain characters, like wall-hoping was for Melee? Will there be other scenery to climb (trees, pillars, vines, fences)? And will one be able to attack while climbing?



Not to make a big deal of it, but I was just saying...

If it is possible to add ladders in the creator.. it would probably mean that all characters can climb.

I don't know whther that means you just can go the doodles or you can actually climb some bits. But yeah, seemed interesing to me.

it would be pretty cool if u could attack and do things while climbing if not it seems pretty useless

Ladders would be a cool and interesting part of the game if they were fuctional in good ways, such as being able to grab onto them while jumping, climbing up and sliding down them (very) quickly, and on some stages using them to reach areas out of jump range.

They'd also make a good edition to a lava stage, or a stage with rising water.
You'd have to climb a ladder to get father in the level without losing stock/points/coins.

Or I may just be crazy.

I'm not really that fond of the idea of ladders being in brawl...

But it doesn't look like they're that common. If they can make it work though, whatever.

Somehow, I think that only certain characters can climb up ladders. They just aren't wide enough to handle Bowser's standards.

I would like to build a stage made only out of ladders. Aerial fighting for the win.

I was gonna make a stage with a little platform and then a huge ladder to a big platform on the top. You'd have to make it to the top, while trying to make others not make it. It could be like King of the Hill in a sense...

i doubt climbing will be limited. i mean, what character wouldn't be able to? plus, that would suck if there was a ladder in the level, and you picked a character who flat out couldnt use it. walljumping was different, because it wasn't really necessary.

Most people seem to think it'll be useless.

It wont be useless because it can stop you in mid air anytime you want.
There will be new tecniques called ladder hopping.
