The Halo series. Going to Halo LAN parties back in 2001 was the sweetest thing in the world. Can't believe that was seven years ago.

Since when is the N64 considered classic? Back in my days, we used to play Double Dragon and Ice Climber...

My most fun back in the day when most of my firends came over and played Panel De Pon. I wish I could had taped it. T_T

That's really what I meant by classic, even if it's a stretch of the word...

The original Halo was so good for LAN parties.

CTF BG all day

One time, for my birthday, I had fifteen guys over and we played Halo. It was the lamest/most fun thing I've ever done.

Gauntlet Legends/the GCN remake of that, those two were always fun to play. I loved Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.

Also, Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 are some of the greatest party games. So **** fun to do Monkey Target or Monkey Fight or any of the other minigames.

A PC game my friends and I used to play was Heroes of Might and Magic III. I don't know if we actually ever finished a game but **** was it fun.

I used to (and still do) love playing the Mario Party games, Super Smash, 007, and Turok: Evolution with my friends.

Oh, and Zelda games by switching off every once in a while, like OP said.

I mainly played Street Fighter 2 for SNES for a couple years but I was just a button smasher, the only move I knew were the AAA attacks the Chun Li and and E. Honda and the shock move Blanka had.

Bubble Bobble for the NES FTW.

And, well...yes, Turtles in Time. It will be a good day should that game ever make it's way towards the Wii's Virtual Console, or any download service for that matter.

Setups me and my friends would play the hell out of in Halo 1:

- Team Crazy King of the Hill on Wizard. Shotguns as starting weapons.
- Team Snipers on Boarding Action.
- CTF on Blood Gulch. No tanks.
- CTF on Hang 'em High.
- CTF on Sidewinder. No tanks.

Give me Halo 3 remakes of all of those maps please, Bungie. You've already got one down, with Avalanche being Sidewinder 2.0, and it definitely plays the best out of any of the big maps in Halo 3. Now, remake Blood Gulch/Coagulation, your most popular map ever. Bungie, are you reading this?

The Warriors for the PS2, crap single player, but get a friend and this game comes to life. Finished it 100% countless times on co-op.

Streets of Rage 2 for the Genesis/Mega Drive. That game is amazing. First stage music is too good.

Did you enjoy Coagulation in Halo 2? I remember not liking it all that much, though I never really knew why. It just didn't lived up to BG.

Also, Valhalla is sorta like BG.

I loved Coagulation in Halo 2, but thought it was a little too large, and the three story bases were unnecessary. A Banshee would easily have fit on top of the base, though having something that flies spawn underground = wicked awesome. And your enemies couldn't see it right away when it spawned, like they can on EVERY Halo 3 map.

And Valhalla was created as a "spiritual successor" to Blood Gulch/Coagulation, but it doesn't play or feel ANYTHING like it. The only similarity they have is being in a canyon and having grass. :|

I liked Coagulation but only with at least 10-12 people but any less and it just wouldn't flow quickly enough.

I have a friend that would pick it when it's just 2 of us and it would suck because it either turned into a sniping match or a vehicle battle, which are both fun but when done too often in quick session it gets old.

Best multiplay = Earthbound

Since my cartridge like everyone else's doesn't save anymore, me and my buddy just played it straight through switching off every hour one weekend a few years ago. We started on a Friday afternoon and just kept taking turns, slept a little that night and then finished it up by Saturday evening. Best time ever, gotta do it again.

Perfect Dark and Mario Kart 64 .

My younger brother and I had so much fun playing Perfect Dark though the Co-op story. It was great just thinking of inventive ways to complete objectives together. And let's not forget the multiplayer challenges.

Mario Kart 64, similar story, we'd actually help each other place well in Grand Prix. We actually unlocked mirror mode through the two player mode.
