Blablabla, I have three of these now on different characters now lol.

Since I ask a ton of questions, I'm going to make my own thread for them. I'll update them every now and then.

1) How useful is moonwalking?
2) How do I approach?
3) Where is falcon most strongest? (offstage, onstage, etc.)
4) How do I deal with spammers? (falco, samus)

Thanks.

If you just searched through the Captain Falcon threads, I am betting you could find all the answers to these questions without much trouble..

Will do, but I don't know if I can find much through 7 years of manly work.

I'm just a semi-pro Falcon but I think I can answer these decently.

1) Moonwalking is like a lot of techs - it has plenty of uses but isn't necessary and takes a lot of practice to be able to apply. Generally, a quick moonwalking towards an edge gives you the speed and facing to be able to just DI out and slip off into an edgeguard. It also is a nice mindgame utility, specifically for aerial approaches or chasing off the edge.

2) Thanks to Falcon's speed, you can adopt a simple strategy of waiting for your opponent to reach out for you and then dashdance out of their range and back in with usually a JC grab (the most useful), a SHFFL'd aerial (not as good at low percents), or a Raptor Boost (sometimes takes luck to land). If you find a lot of your approaches foiled, especially offensive approaches, it's a good idea to change it up and start spamming nairs, because they have good priority and range and can usually beat the strategies that wrecked you a minute ago.

3) Falcon is usually the best in the air thanks to his speed there if you jump from a dash (which is usually the case). He can chase opponents with aerials for combos or just pop out of nowhere with them. His ground game isn't terrible thanks to a dangerous grab, but his tilts have limited use and his specials are weak. He does well off the stage when chasing opponents because he has the horizontal aerial speed to recover from it, but when recovering himself he is very weak to edgeguarding.

4) Samus' missiles are easy to deal with, just nair through them. You can deal with Falco's lasers by jumping over then and reaching him as fast as possible or by wavedashing out/into shield until you're closer.

1) How useful is moonwalking
Moonwalking is useful, but definitely not the meat and potatoes of falcons game. itll be the icing on top, the sugars and fats of the food pyramid.

2) How do I approach?

Foxy sigma did a good job here. however id have to disagree with nair having priority. ive been able to shffl fox's nair/bair thru falcons nair a lot. It hits because of its range. another short coming of the nair is that it can be crouch cancelled, so youll really have to work on spacing them perfectly.

3) Where is falcon most strongest? (offstage, onstage, etc.)

Falcon is strong on both offensively, and a great evasive/mobile game onstage, however he loses points offstage because of his poor recovery. So unless its part of your combo/momentum or youre sure your aerial will land on your opponent, its safer to try to edgeguard from the stage, especially against marth (marth is gay videos). Spacies is iffy youll have to call it. etc.

4) How do I deal with spammers? (falco, samus)
Once you get close, you dont necessarily have to attack. I prefer to get close to increase the tension, then try to work my way into getting a grab. Once youre on top of them, stay close, and push them towards the edge (well, maybe not against samus). As for nairing thru missiles, she can easily cc the nair to dsmash.

and also yu can use raptor boost to go under missiles and lasers, its kinda risky tho so i dont know how applicable it is.
