I would rather not FE8 get a rep. I like Ephraim, but I find the game sub-par. It is already obnoxious enough that every large gaming media love this game and hate real, non-gimmicky FE games.

There are other FE characters that I think should get in before him anyway. Aside from Marth, I'd rather see Eliwood/Roy/Hector(only one though), Sigurd/Leaf/Ayra(again, only one), or Miciah. His game hasn't done anything for the series, and in a series with so many games and different characters, it's usually the deciding factor.

I absolutely hated Fire Emblem 8. Terrible game for so many reasons.

However, Ephraim is great. He's not a girly hero like Eliwood or even Ike to a lesser extent. The spear would certainly put a unique twist on things...

Yeah, he's probably my #1 most wanted FE reps out of anyone, Roy/Ike/Marth included.
Hector would be a very close second. Everyone else doesn't matter.

If you want to make Fire emblem 8 harder. Avoid power leveling Just run away from all overworld battles. Then choose maximun difficulty. The game makes you tear you hair out when its like that. Sacred Stones is far from a bad game and its supports are hilarious.

Though I want Finn the knight from Fire emblem 4 as the games lance wielder,him or Nephenee. As none of the gameboy games were popular in Japan.

Ephraim would be a good other character along with Micaiah.

I'd like Marth, Ike, Micaiah and Ephraim. Ephraim should be the 4th FE character because a spear is much different than another blue haired swordsmen. We need more variety in weapons besides with swords or fists.

That was still easy. I played the game by banning the tower/ruins, random monsters, the arena, and all promotion/stat-up items. That was fun.

But the game's story was poor, and did not well involve the unique characters the game had. The class thing was really only asthetically fun, as there was almost always a clear-cut better class. Fighting monsters all of the time got boring very quick as well.

The only characters that seemed well developed to me were Joshua and Cormag, and after they got their one chapter of speaking, they were swept under the rug. All of the other characters qualities could only be seen in supports.

How many of us have played all the games our mains came from in Melee? I didn't despise FE8 and I loved the branched promotions; it just didn't capture my intrest like the others. If a game like FE7 had branched promotions and an overworld map after the endgame I would love it forever.

Ephraim is a cool character, and you get the opinion he (and possibly his sister, Ice Climbers style or as an AT) would be great in Brawl.

Branched promotions wasn't a bad idea, but they poorly implemented it. There was always a very obvious choice, whether it was because of the character's stats, or because one class is just better in caps/movement/weapons(Ranger>Sniper).

FE8 as a game was fun... branches made it interesting...

It was my least favorite international FE... simply because the storyline was horribly cliche and the characters were boring...

I'm kinda getting sick of the "FE8 was so horrible" fad... just because it wasn't popular in japan...

And Ike is far far from girly... Ike is probably one of the least-girly lords in FE history... (in RD especially)...


To be on topic... I can see Ephraim and Eirika as assists at BEST... no way IMO they are making the roster...
