Just thinking about how different series have gotten different numbers of players in the past two games i though that it might be interesting to make some predictions for this one.

Smash bros 64:

8 starter characters

4 unlockable characters

9 series of characters

3 from Mario (including Yoshi)

2 from Pokemon

1 from DK

1 from Metroid

1 from Star Fox

1 from zelda

1 from F- zero X

1 from Mother

1 from Kirby

Super smash bros Melee:

14 starter characters

12 unlockable characters

12 series of characters

6 from Mario

4 from pokemon

1 from DK

1 from metroid

2 from star fox

4 from zelda (zelda and skeik as one)

1 from F- zero X

1 from Mother

1 from Kirby

1 from ice climbers

1 from game and watch

2 from fire emblem

NOW WE HAVE THE FACT WE CAN MOVE ON TO THE PREDICTIONS FOR BRAWL

Starter characters:

64-melee: double minus 2 so melee

Melee- brawl double minus 2

Brawl starter charcters: 26

Brawl unlockable will be less then melee becasue other wise you would have a ridiculous number of characters so i think it we be the same.

Brawl unlockable charactes: 14

Brawl series: this will go up much more because of 3rd party characters

Brawl series: 18

Doesn't it cross your mind that we could get to see a new, not heard of before franchise character as an unlockable? Say... Golden Sun perhaps? Balloon Fight, or Pikmin franchises?

So instead of things such as K.Rool being in.. you should probably consider Golden Sun's Isaac, Joy Mech Fight's Sukapon and other MAIN characters which had as many votes as K.Rool, which judging by the list have higher priority over K.Rool (please compare the # of Main characters with the # of Villains)

But yes, Isaac as a playable would make me a very happy RPG fanboy.

this fails because like kid icuras there will obviously be new series added.
Wat 2 sonic reps and 1 mother and f-zero rep, I dont think nintendo would allow offical nintendo reps to get less reps then 3rd party caracters

Your right except... Ice climbers will still only have on.. well.. one and half.. well.. idk.. maybe they count as 2.. or maybe as 1.. but Ice climbers won't have more than 1 rep in the roster.

As previously stated, Yoshi is part of his own series, as is Wario (WarioWare). Also, I highly doubt Tails being a PC.

Ummm I like how you posted the previous smash numbers for starter and unlockable characters. So by looking at that I would of thought maybe you'd have a better prediction. Saying there will be 26 Brawl characters is just crazy. My guess would be anything a lil under 20. Maybe 18-20 to be exact but that may even be too high, but it's my guess. But 26 is too D@mn high. There is most likely going to b e more unlockables than there are starters. Can most of us agree on that?
