Hey,wouldn't you trust a person who knew WFT was going to be in the game,7 days before E3?
It wasn't exactly impossible to predict. I'm not saying that it was most definitely a lucky guess and nothing more, I'm just saying it could have been.
Wii Fit Trainer actually makes a lot of sense when you look carefully at the Wii generation. Wii Fit was a massively important title, and one of Shigeru Miyamoto's projects. If you think outside the box a bit, Wii Fit is actually an obvious choice for some form of representation in SSB4, especially when you consider that each Smash has drawn largely from games of the previous generation for inspiration.
And since the trainer is one of the few characters in Wii Fit, she is the obvious choice to represent the series.

Using deductive reasoning, any speculator with knowledge of Wii Fit's significance and Sakurai's tendency to choose at least one important character from the previous generation to represent it, could have made that bold prediction.
It may have been a legitimate leak or maybe an educated guess, sure, but it was not by any means impossible to predict without inside information.

In fact, if only Wii Fit Trainer had at least one vocal supporter on here, prior to E3, I'm sure several members here may have been inclined to predict her reveal as well.

For someone to successfully predict the Wii Fit Trainer a week prior to E3, that is enough to impress me.
For someone to fully convince me they had leaked info, they would have to successfully predict a ridiculously outlandish roster addition.
For example, a truly obscure Fire Emblem character, a seemingly random or unpopular Pokemon, or better yet, a character that no rational person would seriously expect, such as Chell, whose trailer would be immediately followed by the announcement of a Portal game on Wii U. (If only...)
Then I would probably believe just about anything they predicted or "leaked."

I honestly feel a sort of resentment towards the Gematsu leak because it retroactively put Rhythm Heaven in a negative light and keeps people from supporting any characters from Rhythm Heaven besides the Chorus Kids.

Wii Fit Trainer was not exactly an established character, per se. However, Wii Fit Trainer is the predominant reason most trust the leak, it is more about the notion that it was in conjunction with Villager. Someone who Sakurai had previously denounced. Sure, it is POSSIBLE that someone speculated in favor of her accurately. It is far less plausible that someone did that in addition to Villager. It is even less likely that they would assert that those were the e3 characters.

Representation does not have to be a playable character. Most that believed that Wii Fit would get representation logically speculated in favor of stages or some other aspect of the game.

How would this roster make you feel?

I would be disappointed due to...

- Tingle over other Zelda characters
- Miis and Robin. No thanks but I'll take Robin over Miis if forced
- Lack of Falco, Sonic, Toon Link, Mega Man, and Rosalina
- Lack of Isaac, Lip, and Mach Rider, all who would be good choices

I do however love the idea of

- Banjo and Bomberman who deserves to be playable
- Toad
- Takamaru

Others I'm not gonna comment on due to this game. Maybe in Smash 5, I'd be more supportive

I have Rhythm Heaven for DS at home. I haven't played it in a while, but it's a lot of fun. I would actually be delighted to see characters from the series in Smash Bros.
I have a soft spot for quirky and/or obscure characters.

I don't dispute that it was an impressive prediction, and yeah, it seems likely that it was based on leaked info.
I'm just saying it's possible it was only a guess.
It's also possible that the people behind the leak(s) had only partial or outdated information.

I don't tend to believe in these sorts of things until they are proven. I still consider it a possibility though. We'll find out soon enough.

People say leaks are either real or fake but seem to ignore that both are possible at the same time, even if someone finds a couple of characters that will appear in the game it won't stop them from posting a ''leak'' with 10. You would expect a game directed by a master deceiver to have more skeptical fans.

I do not necessarily believe that the Wii Fit Trainer and Villager speculations were "guesses." It is; however, entirely possible that he had insider information in regards to the three characters that he properly "guessed" and that the rest were fabricated. Either way; objectively speaking, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, and Mega Man are confirmed. The entirety of his remaining list (with the exception of the ever so ambiguous Greninja) are not confirmed. I do not believe the leak personally, but I do not believe that Wii Fit Trainer was a lucky guess either.

Tl;dr: It does not matter, I was ninja'd anyways.

I'm not one to predict the roster. Because people get sooo mad when they don't get certain characters in. I just wait till it comes out and get it.

I think Takamaru's chances just went up, as his game is being released on the European Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console.

I can agree with that.
I forget, did he not predict Little Mac, either?

I'm pretty sure it's too late for that to actually affect Takamaru's chances, but Nintendo could be trying to familiarize the Western world with the series and to capitalize on the opportunity to sell some more copies of the game if Takamaru is confirmed at E3.
Either way, that's cool news. I hope it comes to the USA. I'd love to try the game out!

He did predict Little Mac on the original E3 leak. I believe Rosalina is the only one he hasn't gotten right (although Greninja fell under a category so wide it couldn't possibly be wrong). Although technically speaking, the leaker may have been saying Little Mac would be revealed at E3. He wasn't.

But John, the roster is clearly going to be revamped every single time news like this pops up.

Because that's how development works after all.
I remembered when Brawl development stopped to add Rosalina as a playable character and add a Mario Galaxy stage.

OH WAIT!!!

As a retro? What makes you think that?
Sal Romano's leaked most of the roster, and Mac seems to be focused a lot on his old game. In his trailer and with the wire frame alt.

I wished they woulda bumped Jiggly to starter and kept Greninja a secret.

1.) He may have leaked most of the roster, but if there's any free space, it could potentially go to Takamaru.
2.) We don't even know if that leak is real.
3.) Little Mac is also clearly focused a lot on his Wii game, with his design and Final Smash being taken from it.
