I would enjoy it if she assisted you, but I wouldn't want her to take the place of Link's companion (like Navi, Midna, or Fi).
Maybe the place that Sheik took in OoT? In any case, Greninja stole and Sheik stole any thunder that Impa had.

Well I'm not talking about the companion character, that role traditionally changes from game to game, but more like a recurring character who helps you out.

Honestly, this just bothers me more. The roster is missing cohesiveness with a separate slot Sheik as opposed to Impa. It doesn't really make too much sense; but you know, she was in Melee... so yeah. But Jigglypuff might be removed because people don't like her too much, Original 12 status means nothing. I am loving the contradiction.

We will more likely get an Impa costume, but I honestly wouldn't mind if both Sheik and Impa were on the roster.

I wouldn't mind if they were both on the roster either; but it is funny, the only justification that most could find for Sheik was the whole "she is Zelda, a part of her, she really only works as a transformation character." Now we have her as a separate slot while the much more prominent/prevalent character is completely and utterly disregarded. But I don't really care all that much, I am a Sheik fan.

Yeah it would be nice to have Impa take a more important role in the game
This....it's...no...

It's impossible for this to occur!

Maxilian,you....don't have any drifloons in your post! IMPOSTER!

Also,I would agree with this, but being Zelda's caretaker, which I tell you doesn't do a very good job most of the time, wouldn't have as much as a main role. Unless you play as Zelda in that game,it could be ranked up a bit.

Fixed! :drflip:

It would be nice and something new to have have game where you actually play Zelda, but please... don't make the same mistake they did with Peach in her game (it was a nice game but... really? her powers make her look like she's in her period :drfacepalm: -Constantly changing moods-)

Note: i was playing SMITE while i was posting here so i was trying to post as fast as i could :drshrug:

A welcome return to the classic formula.

...I guess.
All except for the fact that, for the first time in the series, we'll get to play as a female Link!

Seriously though, Link looks so much like a girl in this picture, and in this game in general, that it kind of makes me wish they would just go ahead and make such a bold move in a spinoff. Or, you know, in a mainline Zelda game.
I would actually be in full support of a female Link one of these days (as long as she was an interesting character and not hypersexualized eye candy), not as a permanent thing, but as a once-every-few-games thing. It's not as if the different Links up to this point haven't already been drastically different.

On another note, I would like to see more Zelda games where Zelda isn't kidnapped. Having Zelda as Link's companion in Spirit Tracks was great.

Oh, uh, and to keep this Smash Bros. related, while it would be neat to see content from this game, trophies perhaps, I kind of doubt we will. It's probably showing up too late in SSB4's development cycle to affect much of anything.

Don't forget the Vibe(rator) Sceptor. What? It's true!

Also, can't it just be about Zelda battling by using Magic? There, bam. Hyrule Warriors DLC.

I forgot that was even a possibility, but yes, that is indeed possible within the canon. Why aren't people clamoring for something so awesome?

Wait, i've been gone for a bit. Is that a Hyruke Warriors magazine page? A new Zelda that hasn't been proven? Majoras Mask 3D? Okay, one can only hope.

Na that's Hyrule Warriors :drohyou:

I think choosing a gender for Link at the beginning of a Zelda game is perfectly reasonable.
NOOOOOOOOOOO! :drflip: Link is Link!, and i don't want a spind off of a random female Link!, i want an "original" female character! (they could use Impa or Zelda or we could use Sheik -that's Zelda but you get it-) :dr-_-:

Aww for a second I thought a female Link is playable. :(

But yeah, it's technically possible to have a female Link, which I fully support. An option for both genders would be my preferred choice, cuz, y'know, the name "Link" kinda gives me the impression that this character is linked to the players... I'm probably the only one on this...

I really wish Link will have that Hyrule Warriors design as an alt costume. Damn, that scarf is sexy. :ohwell: Here's hoping that most fighters will have at least 1 costume.

Link has actually been eleven Links throughout the series, many of whom differ drastically in appearance, so I don't think being female is much of a stretch.

This is kind of unrelated, but it's about TP and Midna. Well, am I the only one who would actually be more comfortable in Midna's imp form, than her Twilit form? Just personally.

Sorry to be off-topic, but imagine a Male Zelda. And I don't mean Sheik when I say that.

She's better as an Imp in general. Better facial expressions.

Damn, you had me going thinking there was a female Link ready to be playable. :(

Best I could see Impa making it would be an skin color for Sheik. Wouldn't surprise me if Impa makes AT, but how would she work?

I would actually much rather see a playable Zelda/Sheik/Tetra than a simple gender swap for Link. She wouldn't even have to replace him. Just as an option.
I hope that happens soon. The series needs some fresh concepts.

That's something I really appreciate about Smash Bros. The character variety.

That's like giving Silent Hill a C (Most Suitable for Children) rating.

I think some Final Smashes need to be announced, especially new ones for Peach, Toon Link, Sheik, and Meta Knight.
This. So much this. All of these characters, as well as DK, ROB, Ice Climbers, Ganondorf, Jigglypuff, and Mr. G&W, desperately need better Final Smashes, because their Brawl ones are terrible, or at least terrible representations of the characters. Also Wolf needs a Final Smash if he comes back, since he didn't even get one the first time. :troll:

Ganondorf? his was amazing.
I suppose it works well enough, but as the only appearance of beast Ganon in Smash Bros to date it was kind of disappointing to me.

At least it wasn't a repainted Blue Falcon, akin to what Wolf got. Though that would have been funny in an insulting way.

If they change it, I cancel pre-order.
Do you really like it that much? Though I don't mind the concept too much (more on that in a moment), I find it very unruly. Can you give me some tips on how to actually score KO's, or you know, damage, using it? I'm being completely serious. If I'm using it wrong I want to know.

Side note: I would actually rather see Octopus as a boss, or possibly an assist. Seeing Mr. Game & Watch transform into what I consider a completely different character, and not only that, but pretty much the only character in the Game & Watch series who could qualify as a boss/villain rather than a mischievous pest, rather than summoning it, has always struck me as strange and just out-of-place. Yes, I see even the Game & Watch series as having some sense of canon. Yes, I do put way too much thought into this stuff.

Well, I was half-joking, and I only really care about it in the sense that you transform into a giant frickin' octopus, not competitively. But I suppose I'd be okay with it as an AT or stage boss.

I see. That's cool.

So, I'd kind of like to see this as DK's new Final Smash (skip to 4:22 in the video below), but it might be kind of... extremely impractical and way too over the top.

So I would suggest this, instead (skip to 1:58). This one I think has a good chance of happening, and I would actually really enjoy that.

But I think what I would love more than anything else, is the Final Smash I was hoping for back when Brawl was announced.

I'm going to continue the female Link discussion in the General Discussion thread. It's interesting, no?

I'm rarely play as G&W, but iirc Octopus' head area doesn't deal damage (pls correct me if I'm wrong). So smart opponents will just jump over you, perhaps clipping the head, while taking no damage (or ledge grab + roll under). It's a slow moving FS, and you can KO yourself if you're not careful (hey! why are you looking at me!? I never KO'd myself... I-I swear! Ok... maybe once or twice. damn platforms...). Idk what I do. It depends on the stage, as smaller ones are better (iirc, there's some bad clipping on certain stages though), but I will try to corner opponents. It's a shame you can't turn around.

I do find it a hilarious FS, but I'm wondering if they're going to change it. Isn't there an Octopus game in Nintendo Land though?...

Omg Octopus for second G&W character!

Mario could use a stronger final smash. How about the mega mushroom. You grow huge and stomp on people to deal huge amounts of damage. On another note I think giga bowser should stay.
