Hey guys I was just wondering are there any chaingrabs that you can possibly DI or something out of? I know DDDs is infinite but what about the IC or falco even? because IC is deffinitely ****ing broken. The reason I know none of this is because I will not play any chain grabbing characters and if I do I wont use it. That's bull****. Anyways if you guys could throw me a bone that would be nice because until now I just have had to deal with basically having almost a 50% starting percentage every fight and yes I can deal with it but I really would rather not.

Play very near the edge.

Seriously though Falco's can be DI'd out of but it has to be after a certain percentage, IC's no chance really. However once you even land a single DAir on the Ice Climbers Ganon can tear them apart with buffered UAir's to keep them apart.

Falco's is guaranteed to a certain percent, 45% I'm a pretty sure, and you can escape after that. ICs, if they're doing it right you're screwed, as is everybody. Lucario's force chaingrab you can DI and jump I'm pretty sure.

But yea we're screwed by DDDs chaingrab

With Lucario there are scarier things to worry about than any chaingrab. He has a juggle combo that can chase you off the side of the screen, its not very hard to pull off either and works on like 90% of the cast.

Lucario only has a chaingrab if you let him have it. You can jump break out of it just like you can break out of anybody else who just grabs and holds you without throwing. Just go nuts on the analog stick.

Thanks for the input guys. I went onto other character's boards and couldnt find much info on how to DI out.More on how to do the CGs. And as far as DDD goes I still have an easier time with him than any ICs...Im probably just not doing it the best but I can really only think of one attack to use, which is drumroll please....d-tilt.

Why isn't the IC chaingrab sort of banned? It seems a bit broken to me and if anyone gets good with it, victory is only a shield grab away. Just puzzles me.

Because the ICs have **** grab range, and the extremely high level of difficulty involved in the ICs CG. You try to do it.

QFT.

The reason it's not banned is because it's hard to set up (small grab range, horrible grab cool down on dash grab), and hard to execute. People who are amazing with ICs (see Lain) are among the most technical players in the game. It's not easy to CG with them at all, unlike DDD, for instance. Listen to Lain pulverize his controller to dust with all the rhythmic button pressing in the set of him vs Overswarm (I believe).

PS - I love ICs. They're so fun and they're the only character that sometimes literally makes me laugh sometimes mid-match because of how goofy they are.

Because IC's are possibly the only character in the game that require actual technical skill. High level players are a sight to behold simply because of how difficult it is to consistently chain grab, space, desynchronize the IC's and keep Nana in check.

Even in Melee IC's were notably much more fun to watch than most other characters at least back when Wobbling was still legal.

This isn't like the cheap *******s known as Falco and DDD who can literally chaingrab and gimp you in their sleep. Especially Falco, god I hate that ****ing reflection barrier finish...

yeah that IC thing is pretty hard. But if someone does master it im sure it cant be that bad to wait for a shield grab and win. The IC grabs wouldnt bug me as much if I could escape somehow. or if it only lasted to a certain %.

Ice Climber's grab chains being the most technical, is also the best if it becomes mastered. It is impossible to get out of, unless the Ice Climber's let you themselves, or if the stage interferes. You could also be spiked and killed between the chain grabs.
