u know after a certain point it just sounds really forced and/or stupid when you say that

jus like if a high school basketball team were to play the lakers, and beforehand they're saying **** like "we're gonna win ok"...a joke is a joke but man that just looks so stupid i had to point it out lol

with that being said and done who wants to take bets

2-stock means that 2 of them will take out 4 of your crew members

crew battles are based on the premise that the players can go largely even, and the matchups are what come into play - that or the matchups bring players to even with their opponents

even if every member of your crew only gets one-stocked, that makes it a very real possibility that you won't even get through 3-4 members

You know, I had a long and precise response for people who think we have no hope, and I was gonna post it. However I realized that even if I did, even if I outlined which one of us can beat which one of them, etc. I would simply get flamed for "thinking we can win" and "being cocky".

People think we're going to get destroyed based off of what they've seen. The only way to change how the feel is to win, and even then, there are still the naysayers who are gonna shout things like "they were sandbagging" or "you got lucky".

I dont know why this has to be hyped up so much. UCD vs UCB wasnt hyped up, even though it had our number 1 ranked player playing in it.

People should just let this be a fun competition between two schools.

The amount of bias in the smash community is really disheartening.

yes, god forbid people expect the people who have been dominating the scene for years, even up to this day, to win instead of some ragtag crew that barely even places in any tournament, small or large

don't be like EC... just because someone doesn't like your stuff doesn't mean it's a personal vendetta

all i'm saying is, on paper, you will get wrecked

you can't actually play the match on smashboards, so there's no reason to say anything otherwise here

play your match, win it, and that's all that will matter

edit: also, is ragtag offensive? sorry, it wasn't meant to be

No, ragtag makes it sound more like a bunch of rogue smashers who are challenging the rankers, which is true. It's pretty cool. Like street ballers challenging the NBA, and then suddenly people watch the game and think you might pull an upset.
