Catonsville Smashfest, Saturday February 10'th

Had an awesome time tonight. Never even knew there was such a thing as these smash bro parties, but now that i know, im gonna try to go to a lot more of them. Someone told me that this is actually a biweekly thing, at the piano place where we were tonight, i just want to know if thats true.

If so, I'll probably bring even more people next time, or at least ill try to bring an extra tv or two. Sorta had a lack of them it seemed. Great fun overall. Major props to Dr. O, never seen someone play a Dr. Mario as good as him. The rest of the big wigs around here, I'll see you guys next time.

Vist - NICE playing. you were freaking incredible with so many characters...especially your sheik. ****ed needles >_>

G-reg - i didn't know you played so many characters o_O. good stuff in the finals (triple bair KO XD) i'll try to stop annoying you so much from now on til i get better

Dr. O - unbelievable Doc. one of the best mario tree characters i've ever seen

Munky - Capt. falcon does not need pills of any sort. look at all those muscles!

Deadkev - nice matches. keep using ganondorf, we don't see too many of those nowadays. good stuff.

JK/War Hamster - too good seeing you so much. it's good having someone else suck as much as you do XD we'll get more friendlies in next time

hm. don't think i missed anyone but nonetheless GREAT FREAKING TOURNEY. hope you all liked Chai Latte (still can't believe he beat hova XD) it was his first tourny since the original pound so good stuff.

Good freking **** everyone, i had fun... and i wish more ppl saw what i did to frozens friends fox... like the tripple link down areal as seen in the germs combo vid, but it had a N areal right afterwards... <3... it was tough that all the kings had to take eachother out of the tourney. that blew. i had fun link dittoing anyone i dittoed, and uhh... **** you G-reg, lol. i need to learn how to fight CF's. ****... and how did i beat vists falco with link, its was so freaking close... and im sorry for saying it so much... but that was one of the best fights i have ever had! wow... even if this is the last tourney ill ever go to... i think it was worth it... ill post updates on my "contract" outcome later on the MRK official thread.

Good fest guys. I enjoyed the friendly competition and getting to meet a bunch of new players.

Hova - thanks for the training. I will implement more of that long dash dancing in my game.

DOSV - Your technical game with fox looked really sharp. Seems it has improved significantly. Good stuff. Too bad we didn't get to do doubles.

Nikk - fun playing with you, as always.

Blue Light - Good luigi, but what can luigi do against marth's sword? :D I'd suggest using your fox more, but whatever you enjoy using is cool.

G-reg - thanks for playing me. I can't believe I got your samus down to the last stock. Still amazing though.

Vist - you're really good, lol. I was lucky getting to play you in the tournament.

Trident - not a bad sheik. Hopefully we'll see you at the next fest?

Dr. O - your dr. mario is the best I've played. You have inspired me to work on my marth vs Dr. Mario game.

other Dr. Mario player - fun playing, you're a cool guy. I learned a lot about the marth v dr. mario matchup thanks to our games. You have the 2nd best Dr. Mario I've played next to Dr. O.

everyone else - I forget names easily, but I know your faces. It was fun getting to play new players. To the 4 guys who were talking about what I've done since I started playing last October - I don't consider myself really good yet, but my advice is to read guides on smashboards, watch vids on youtube/google vid and if possible on the hub, practice single player with 2 humans, one as a sandbag and one as yourself (for c stick), or vs a lvl1 cpu, then practice on human friends (go to smashfests/tourneys!), then repeat the cycle. That's all I've done so far. It's work sometimes, but it pays off and steps up your game. Just half an hour a day will do it, though I enjoy it sometimes so I spend longer, lol.

FrozenChaos - I'm waiting for those singles results like I mentioned. I will keep you to your word

nice fest everyone. the turnout wasn't as big as the last time or 2 i was there but it was better than i realized (32 or so in the singles tournament).

im feeling pretty lazy so im gonna sum up my shout-outs real quick:

great matches with everyone I played. I had quite a few intense matches, **** was mad fun. Greg is indeed amazing. Cmart is also amazing and very underrated. Dr.o plays a mean doc. Yo you play mad passive aggressive. Splode good **** beating me in a match with link, hopefully you can make it out to more tournaments. UMBC and M have sexy marths. Frozen is the man for holding this. Hat is also the man. Btree is mad cool and funny. Same goes for EEvisu. Hova is god. DOSV = too cool. Tru= is awesome for recording matches. Caboose/royboy nice meeting/playing you. Munkyman we shall smash soon. I didn't forget everyone else I played, but I am having a hard time remembering everyones name and such, so good **** to all.

Well I had lots of fun at this. I usually don't play that much at these things and just wander and hang out with people. This time I was almost constantly playing people, except for an hour in the frigid cold hell of the bus stop. Fun time, and the turnout seemed just right for the space available.

EEvisu- I keep saying it but you're getting mad good.
Vist- Close matches. I really don't mind that you went Sheik, you're a lot of fun to play in any case.
Greg- You're amazing at this game.
Hova- We didn't hang out much this time. Next time.
Btree- I need to just sit down and talk jiggz with you. Go over all the little things you can do to **** with people. It's really a long list.
Frozen- Good matches. Thank you so much for taking us baltimorons home. I hope you didn't get lost on the way back.
Hat- Don't ****ing wobbles ever again. Otherwise you're a nice guy. Oh and also thanks to you and your family for hosting this.
Tru= We neither played nor teamed together. Squander.
Blue- You're pretty solid, you just need to think more. You're luigi was very nice.
Dr. O- Good matches, even if you seemed upset afterwards.

Yeah I fixed those brackets pretty hardcore by making it entirely random.....lol that is some bad luck though that you all ended up playing each other, you have my sympathies.

As far as the contract goes, it seems as though right now it is null and void, concidering that the "brackets got F-ed up so that we couldnt finish the tourney, and we one the crew battle" so i didnt win the tourney but i didnt lose either ;D. thank you G-reg, i think that **** up saved my life... or ended all the MRK by putting them in the same half... what ever, lol
I mean, maybe if the brackets didnt change i might have gotten higher up, but ****... 9th place? and thats only cause i had to fight a team member that knows how i play too well D:

the only thing that was changed was the order of the brackets. all the matches that had already been called were kept the same, you just may have had to play someone else in the 2nd/3rd round. nothing got too screwed up. haha and its not even really my fault, i entered caboose and chai coffee in, they watched me do it. it just randomly DIDNT put them in the bracket, and when i double clicked their names in the "participants" screen, it just suddenly made a new bracket. silly tournament maker, youre no pen-and-paper, thats for sure.

Okay I dunno what's goin on, but I got a smash copy back. Someone was supposed to swap out mine for someone elses's copy inbetween matches since you were recording or something. I dunno. Anyway it happened off camera from me, and I ended up with a smash at the end of it. Someone else's cube ended up without a smash. I think it might be dosv's you have, not sure.

You just don't know the matchup very well. Next time we play I can show you some things doc can do to puff that I'm glad you weren't doing. Sorry to hear about your troubles with a drink. Hopefully you enjoyed a soda as soon as you got home.

cmart i replaced the copy of smash that you put on top of that cube. you said the one in the cube that JK/chai latte were playing on atm was yours, so when they were done i swapped them and you took the new one (presumably yours) from on top of the cube. so the cube JK/chai/me played on still had a copy of smash, but it shouldn't have been yours. so unless there's another cube in this mess, sorry if i did something wrong =\
