MAIN THREAD!!!!!!

M2K should come and so we can show you what us Long Islanders do to Metaknight.
Especially if M2K is coming im easily expecting about 100 people at this tournement.
Regardless of the little bit of slow outcomes the last couple of times which were due to cold weather and cold hand johns.

April 4th!! 2009

X-O(aka chris)(aka Doommachine) and Will(Aka Mitsurugi) and possibly Eli-mination
are running it

Brawl has grown to be one of the top competitive fighters/Video games. And long island is a pretty big scene for brawl and smash overall. We are now trying to bring in more people outside of long island because I noticed its probably the 2nd best central area for a tournament to take place on the EC next to the city.

Registration from 11:00pm-12:00pm. Tournaments to begin at 12:00pm.
Tournaments will not start any eariler then the times listed below
Melee Doubles-12pm
Melee Singles-1pm
Brawl Low Tier Singles-1pm
Brawl Doubles-2pm
Brawl Singles-3:30pm
SF4-5:00pm
Crews-6:00pm
Smash64-6:30pm

The Venue fee-10$
Singles-10$(Melee/Brawl)
Doubles-10$ each (Starting first)(Melee/Brawl)
Smash64/SF4/SSBB Low Tier-5$

Tv's, Wii's w/Brawl and Gamecube's w/Melee, will get you 5$ off your venue fee at most.

Castle Golf's fighting game tournaments started two summers ago, but
weren't nearly as large as they are now. To account for such a massive
smash turnout, we will be concentrating solely on Brawl and Melee. However,
that is not to say that we will not hold other game tournaments in the future.
For time constraint reasons however, it would seem best to limit the event to
just 4 tournaments.

A portion of the arcade will be turned on for free play to anyone who pays the venue fee!
There is also a burger king located right in front of the venue, and pizza and drinks will be sold.

There will be 5 Games at the venue:

* Super Smash Brothers Brawl- Wii (Singles and Doubles)

* Super Smash Brothers Melee- GameCube (Singles and Doubles)

* Smash 64-(Side Event)(Rules coming soon)

* Street fighter 4-(Side Event)(Rules coming soon)

* Super Smash Brothers Brawl Low Tier Tournament(During Melee)

Crew Battles: Tactical Tag Team Rules

GET 5 PEOPLE TOGETHER AND CALL YOURSELVES SOMETHING AND PLAY IN CREW BATTLES

1. Each member will be given 3 stocks each. When in a match stock sharing is allowed.

2. If the crew wins the match with one available player, the leader will then choose the next member for the next crew match. Once more, stock sharing is available in the match, even to the previous player that won the match with one stock. At the start of the match that player must SD to however many stocks were remaining in the previous match and then the match begins.

3. The crew that lost the first crew match will then pick 2 more brawlers as a replacement. The losers are then allowed to choose the stage or let it be a random stage pick. If the losers choose to have a random stage pick the winners or that one winner of the crew battle must then stay the same character for the next round. If the losers decide to pick a counter pick stage to gain the advantage the winners are then allowed to change characters.

4. First round is a blind pick.

5. If 1 player is left in a crew and he has more than 1 stock, a crew member that isn't the leader may be chosen to enter the crew battle using one of the extra stocks.

6. All normal stage rules apply.

-> General Rules

-Random Knock-Out: Each player may choose to eliminate 1 of the random
stages to be chosen at the beginning of the set.

-Stage Banning: Each player/team may choose to eliminate any stage.

-Advanced Slob Picks: Loser may choose the next stage or elect to go
random, then winner may choose to change characters, then loser may
change characters.

-Double blind for character selection may be used if a player wants to.

-> Other Rules & Special Issues

Controller mods of ANY kind (short-hop mod, L-trigger mod, etc),
except for cosmetic changes (paint job, different colored plastic), are
banned. If you are caught using a banned controller you will be
disqualified from the tournament.

Turbo or programmed buttons of any kind are banned. You may use
third party controllers or pads that have these features, but if you
are suspected of using the banned features you will not be allowed to
use that controller any longer.

Glitches used to stop your opponent from controlling their character
or indefinitely freezing them, or any glitch or trick that freezes the match
or makes it in any way unfinishable are banned. Using them will result in the
immediate forfeit of the match. King Dedede's walking or standing chaingrab
is banned. Ice climbers Infinite is banned(sorry sorto)

Tactics such as Jiggly's Rising Pound are allowed as methods of recovery or
to manuever around the stage. Using them (or any similar tactics) to excessively
stall a match, such as dropping below levels intentionally and stalling underneath,
is banned. Judges will be on the tournament floor can be called in at any time to
enforce this rule during a match.

It would be greatly appreciated that you bring your own controller but there
will be a couple up for borrow. Any controller is suitable for this tournament
(Gamecube/wii mote/nun chuck/classic), just make sure people around
you are not also syncing at the same time as you.

The Judges (Will and I) are allowed to overrule anything here that does not favor us in the case of a dispute that seems way to unfair.

-> General rules:

-BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER.

-No modifications; an altered controller spells disqualification.

-No pausing in the middle of a match.

-No infinite stalls/freeze glitches.

- Dave's Modified Stupid Rule: No stage may be used twice in a single set if
the player choosing the stage has already won on that stage, unless both
players agree to use that stage.

- Stage Knock-out: Each player/team may choose to eliminate two of the
legal stages (neutral OR counterpick) to be chosen at the beginning of the set.

- Double blind character pick (may be called for the first game): A double
blind pick is when each player secretly tells a neutral third-party what
character they will use. The third party then announces the character
choices, and the players must stick with their character choices.

What console will SFIV be played on?

Though I doubt the venue can fit 100 people and run all those, I still look forward to this.
