Okay, so I just started playing Captain Falcon and I'm getting pretty good I think... but I'm now getting to doing some stupid stuff. I have a few videos and was wondering if anyone could maybe help me with what I'm doing wrong and give me some advice...

*Me and Ether say abd laugh at some really stupid stuff as commentary in these videos because we were both really tired. If you don't want to hear it, just turn the sound off. (and if you didn't guess we're brothers >~>) *

There's some good stuff in there, but definitely room for improvement.

- Keep up the pressure. Once you've landed a hit, chase that sucker down with whatever move you can get.

- Stop rolling so much; most of the time you do it it's unnecessary, and puts you on the defensive. If you're pressed for space, often a quick dash backwards will give you breathing space.

- Side B is not your optimal approach, you're opponents shouldn't have got hit by it so many times. Down B more in place of boosting.

- Get more comfy with his moveset. You miss many opportunities to punish your opponents.

- You're a little too trigger happy with the fsmash.

That's about it.

P.S. welcome to the falcon boards, and thanks for giving us your first post :p

Like Banana pointed out, it seems as though your preferred method of approach is the Raptor Boost (Side B);
What you want it to be in most cases is a Falcon Kick, as it out prioritizes most moves (EG: Meta Knights Grounded Down A).

Though Captain Falcon is all about air game, you have to read your opponent, and depending on what character they are you might want to stick to your ground game more. Some good examples are in Matches 2 and 3 against sonic, though you Raptor Boost from off stage to recover, Sonic's Fair hits you out of it, leaving you hurting. *In the cases where an opponent can out prioritize you during recovery, using your Up-B instead will yield much more potent results.

From what I saw, you still have room to improve, but you're still doing just fine.

PS: Try cutting back on excessive Knee's, as tempting as they are, they can leave you punishable. Gimped Knees can help with comboing, but only attempt a full blown knee if you KNOW you can hit your opponent. Throw a bit more, Dthrows and Fthrows can lead into Uair/Nair combos, which is great for racking up the damage.

Good luck sir, let Falcon prevail
