cant short hop with new controller

hello, i just bought a new controller to play smash on my PC, but apparently i can't short hop with it, is there some setting to help with this or is just the controller?

It's a dualshock isn't it? PS2 style controllers are usually more sensitive.

what are you talking about? Its about shorthops

yeah, most probably is your controller, i bought one long time ago for smash and i couldn't do short hop on it, PS2 look like too, you should try a "Rumble Force" from Saitek, that's pretty good for smash once you get used to it.

at first i had a good controller, except it only had a d-pad...could do everything I wanted to pretty much, except walk lol had to dash everwhere...now i finally get one with analog pad and i cant friggin short hop lol

its time to pony up and buy an n64/psx adaptor. they're on the cheap on ebay and u can shorthop hurray!
