Yeah and Green banana from dk64 is basically confirmed as well because it is so unexpected, and clearly for certain characters that is the only criterion that matters. I mean it's not like WFT had anything else going for her, like saying having a really popular franchise or highly unique moveset potential.What!? Everyone likes my character selections.

I'm just hoping that they show ANY new Pokemon character with the release of X and Y, if character reveals coincide with game reveals. Personally, I'd want it to be Mewtwo w/ his new form.

Hard to say because there's still a lot of people who are practically guaranteed to be in the starting roster which, in my opinion, throws out my character a month theory. If you include everyone who has ever been in the starting roster in a Smash game except for Ness and Captain Falcon, that leaves 13 characters and that doesn't even include the handful of newcomers that are probably alongside WTF and Villager. It could be totally random but it'll be interesting to see what they do.

Sakurai claims he liked the idea of character cinematics in spite of their cost issues, this to me signals that he's probably thinking of ways to reveal new characters. Also if he doesn't reveal any more new comers I would be umm... Peeved.

No..... But in the reply to what you said. That would make me sad, anyone watch WWE? I Need to use it as an example. so this Guy called Rob Van Dam used to wrestle in the WWE, Then he went to TNA, Recently, he returned. but they told us before hand. so More pepole would buy the PPV He was on. It's buissness, they are gonna reveal them.

If Luigi is going to be revealed this way, it will probably be the retail version of New Super Luigi U. At the same time, however, I am not fully decided on whether or not he will be revealed this year. On one hand, it is the Year of Luigi and not capitalizing on that is a bit ridiculous. On the other hand, Luigi (and Jigglypuff) is the quintessential unlockable character and historically only third-parties have been both unlockable and revealed before the few weeks immediately before release.
Ness' reveal coinciding with the release of Earthbound on VC is much more likely. I personally don't think Ness, Marth, or Cap. Falcon will be unlockable this time around, but we'll see what happens.
SOMETHING will be announced with Pokémon X and Y's release. A new generation is just too big of a deal not to acknowledge it. Maybe Calem or Serena (X and Y's male and female avatars).

I really hope development doesn't get botched by release promotion pressure. Nintendo could do this by approaching Sakurai and telling him to have certain characters ready by certain dates, especially for console title releases (they have been upping their push for the Wii U, which has had relatively poor sales.) The result would be Sakurai not finish making the additions that were planned for the character, ending up with a lot of imported or borrowed elements to meet the deadline. They could change the characters later on, but it would add a lot frustration in balancing the game as they would be balancing things towards the production deadline instead of as they went along.

I wouldn't fear much. All he is revealing is screenshots, so he can have the luxury of just having the bare minimum to show for said dates and later on polishing each character when he is able. I mean, I understand your point but I figure there isn't a deadline set yet and unless he gets asked to purposely implement characters he doesn't have time to, I believe changing the order in which he implements things won't severely affect the outcome. At least from my point of view.

Wind Waker HD coming in September huh? We might get Zelda then. Also, they might reveal Dixie Kong for Tropical Freeze due to her playable status, just a thought.
