I have a shirt that says, "Falcon Punch" on it, haha. More of a gym shirt than something I'd wear to go out.
I think that people should wear what they want, and if you don't like nerd wear, then don't wear it. You can go to a tourney and look normal. But if you're worried about what someone else is wearing, that might be an insecurity on your part. You should just represent yourself, and let other people represent themselves. Yeah, people are going to judge based on groups, but you wouldn't like it if the positions were reversed and someone told you to take off your shirt because it's not cool enough.
Kind of reminds me of a friend I had on Myspace (back when people cared about Myspace) who took me off his top 20 because of my Captain Falcon icon. "But...people were asking who the cartoon character was!" Precursor to facebook drama.
