I think the best way to bring the Smash community together would be for Smash 4 to exceed all our expectations and be the new ideal for smash!

I'm a melee player myself, so naturally I am hoping Smash 4 will be closer to melee. But honestly even if the gameplay isn't as fast or technical as melee, if we have a good competitive online mode, maybe an ELO system with skill-based matchmaking....... I would be so happy. I feel that a strong online mode would do a lot to mitigate any anger from the melee camp that the game isn't Melee 2.0.

That's largely because graphics are superficial, and don't make or break the experience unless it makes the game unplayable or the game is strictly centred around graphic appeal.

Not many people take graphics into the context of the respective game system. I don't hold games on the Gamecube to the same standard as Wii U for instance because the Gamecube is over a decade old and wasn't as strong of a machine. That's why I still freak out to this day over Super Mario Sunshine water effects, absolutely stunning for a console like the Gamecube.

That being said, 3DS's theme doesn't focus on great graphics like the Vita or PS3. It focuses on the 3D and inventive gameplay and atmosphere Nintendo provides. And that's why the graphics debate between Wii U and 3DS is simply null. You're comparing apples to oranges when it comes to graphics of Nintendo's home console and handheld.

This thread is getting way out of hand, this wasnt meant to argue over what game is best like ive said a few times now. it would just be awesome if we were all one community again. Nothing about ssb4 being like melee or brawl. after reading all this it sounds like it wont happen n divided we'll stay.

In all seriousness though, I believe we can get the smash community together just by merely respecting each other by the way we play, which means that we can't have a superiority complex towards any of the players and what game they chose. After that, we can move on and do better as a whole.
