I posted this in another thread but wanted to make a whole new topic for those who are not looking at that thread anymore ^_^

Like I said, I would like someone to remake it with better quality because I can not ._.
Hopefully, this can be used again him more often now ^_^

Idk if you responded to my comment post on the actual video, but i was wondering if there is any DI involved, or just pressing Dair, with practice on the timing....do you have to press it in between grabs? or while being grabbed, or what?

I dont know what DI is ^^; Sorry, I have not been around here long enough to figure it out. But I hold Down and keep pressing A until I connect with the ground. LIke I said in the video, it only works at 18% or higher. SoI think that is D air

DI is like where you hold a direction to make your character go in that direction. For example, you get hit to the left, so you DI to the right, holding the control stick in the opposite direction you are flying, to make yourself not go as far from the hit. But so you just spam A until it works? ^_^ haha I'll have to try that

I never tired it with DDD but spamming the jump buttons works on DDD. Ill try making a video or that too o.o

wow you sure will be busy! haha, you should check around these forums to find out about which characters can chain grab and stuff, then try to break em yourself, and make a video that compiles them all...it would be my suggestion anyway :)

I wanna try this but it looks like the falco's timing with the cg was bad.. because pika shouldn't reach the ground...

Well this is not the only falco I tried this on. I just grabbed a friend to record on. If you try it out, you will see it works.

well I tried it offline and falco catches pika... In your vid you escaped with a dtilt while he was trying to do it. I just think that online was throwing off their timing... Pika shouldn't be touching the ground...

I did it to my brother offline before I recorded it and it worked. The point of the move is not hitting the ground. You are in the air and using the down move

If you watch Pika's down A in slow motion, the sparks hit Falco, or anyother player, just before connecting with the ground, that is why it works. You hit him just before you hit the ground >> If you like, I can post it with a better chain grabber or one on one you to show you

I'm a Falco main (the enemy I suppose) but I've come to say don't get false hope, this Falco didn't seem to have the CG down very well, seemed slower than mine and I don't even boost grab which is the fastest/best way to do it.

Sorry for raining on your parade.

EDIT- actually I was a little rash with this post, the first break was bs, and it looked like the second break could have been avoided, but after that it looked pretty legit.

I second the confirmation. I just used it against my friend's falco that chaingrabs like a dirty wench of the most disgusting of taverns.

Point confirmed: Pikachu can break out of Falco's chain grab using Shockwave.

i tried performing this offline and it worked 50% of the time. i believe it's due to two different possibilities: (1) falco is mesing up the chain grab or (2) i'm not performing the d-air at the right moment.

:/

Its all done in a spilt second. Some times you zap is picked up, sometimes the grab. SOmetimes both attacks are carried out and falco and zapped and and he still gets to grab Pika. Still, even if its 50% better then having to wait the chain out. D=

At least thats what I think

yes, that may be the case but i believe that if the falco player does his chain grab correctly, performing a d-air will not function as a combo breaker.

i only tried it for ~5 minutes but i'll let you know once i play my friend again

Ok, if you look back at they other topic about breaking Falco's grab you will see that I have already suggested this. Our outcomes might be the same because the parameters for our match seem to be the same (I was on an hdtv and you seem to be playing online...lag). When this is the case, I am able to escape Falco's cg. However, when I play on a regular tv I am unable to break the cg.
Now, I may be messing up the timing but I believe that the Falco player in you video is not grabbing correctly. When he/she begins their cg again you have higher damage. Remember, as the opponents damage rises Falco's grab has to account for that change.

Also, I do not think you are a liar. I am still testing this out. Good luck everyone!

i have definately tried this at home but i may not be doing this right from what it sounds like. i am no pro falco player. do we have any experts testing this out? i am only an amateur at CGing with falco.

Sorry guys, but this doesn't work when Falco properly chain grabs. That Falco is dash grabbing, not even buffering a dash for the re-grab, which leaves the most possible amount of time to escape. As you can see, the window for the escape is small already, so when done properly, I am fairly confident that Pikachu WILL NOT be able to escape.

I don't play Falco on a consistent basis, but I have been taught how to properly cg with him. TheKneeOfJustice is spot on with his assessment of the video.

It looks like we need to keep trying other things.
