Brawl+, textures and custom codes. How do you do that?

Actually I'm missing only one info on how to do that. I went through this thread here : http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=229254

And followed this :

File Replacement v2.1 came out and so I updated my RSBE01.txt.

File Replacement 2.1 brings with it some exciting new developments:
- Supposedly perfect loading -- load speed is unaffected
- Hopefully no more freezes
- SD Loader, SD Files, and Disable Custom Stages are no longer required (though we need the former two in order to take advantage of 256+ lines of codes).

So as usual, just open my my RSBE01.txt with Code Manager 1.1 and read the Readme First and Readme Second.

Additionally, if you'd like to do it manually, the format is now as follows:

SD:/codes/RSBE01.gct
- Dynamic SD Loader v1.1
- SD Files
- gct Loader
- Execute gct

SD:/Private/Wii/App/RSBE/pf/RSBE01.gct
- File Replacement v2.1
- You can put any codes you want, here, up to 12,400 lines.

*NOTE: This is for the NTSC-U version of the game. I do not know the codes for the NTSC-J or PAL versions, but you might be able to find them yourself with the links provided in the post.
He says I can "put any code I want, up to 12,400 lines" but how do I even do that? I can't export more than 256 lines with Code Manager. So my guess is that there's a way to somehow directly edit .GCT files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. My Wii is NTSC, using Gecko OS 1.9

The most recent Gecko OS, which I think is 1.9.something, should be able to hold more than 256 lines. I'm using the most recent one and I don't have any problems with line limits.

Q&A thread was made for this. -_-

Anyway, you need this gameconfig TXT file on the root of your SD card. Ask around and find that. And you need the latest Code Manager or Brawl+ Tweaker to not deal with the 256 limit. Search around.

And PLEASE use the Q&A thread for future questions.

you need to get a text file version of the gct. And then put that through the latest version of code manager (which can have more than 256 lines), and then click on the codes names on the left to activate them, and then export it to gct

The only problem I have is how to save a code list with more than 256 lines, Code Manager won't let me do it.

Could it be that Gecko OS doesn't even need a .GCT file, a simple textfile would do?

And sorry about that metaXzero. Won't happen again.

Edit :

Well I'm using 1.1, and I read everywhere it's the latest version. And yes I do have gameconfig.txt on my SD card.

The latest version of Gecko OS is 1.9.2, which supports >256 line GCTs when used with the latest file replacement code. You absolutely must have the GCT in the codes folder, and you must have the gameconfig.txt.

What you need is the latest Brawl + codeset; it's made with a program capable of exporting GCT's of > 256 lines. The codeset comes with the code for texture hacks and music hacks, so the only thing you could be missing would be if you wanted custom codes. A program will probably eventually come out for that. IIRC an old version of Code Manager can export files w/ > 256 lines though, I don't quite remember which one.

The new Gecko does not allow additional lines due to the file replacement code.

The additional lines are granted by a function of the program, which takes instructions from gameconfig.txt on the root of your SD card. By changing where the codes are written, they can be moved to a location where there is more space (and thus more lines can be applied).
