Brawl Slips Up

Well, they can’t all be gems. It’s been a while since the last “ugh” update (last one being “You need to get back on the stage!”) and this one is one of them, imo. Normally I love items, and an update about them is one i’d be intersed in, but this one…..anyway, todays update is about the Banana peel item.

It’s unknown if it’s suposed to represent the DK series or Mario Kart series.

Come to think of it, a match with nothing but banana peels might actually be funny.. for a few minutes.

The most I could see these being useful for in the 2 minutes I bothered to think about it, is laying near edges to annoy those trying to recover. Which we were all taught so skillfully to do be Sakurai a few weeks ago.

It’s the DK series. The Mario Kart games pulled out the banana peel because it was inspired by the DK series. Another good proof is from Mario Kart: Double Dash, where DK and Diddy Kong had the power to pull out a big banana peel. This stretches out even more inspirations from several other games. This isn’t a bad update. It’s better than the low quality Zelda music from yesterday.

This new item has lots of promise. And if you bothered to notice, after Kirby slipped up, the peel stayed on the stage. This probably means that other characters can run by can slip up too.

I can already imagine how much fun I’m going to have with this item.

For those of you who think this update is lame, you’ll get yours soon. Soon you’ll all end up on your butts!

I feel that although this update might not have been a blockbuster, it was definitely necessary. I much rather prefer the alternative, which is nothing, and I definitely prefer this to other lame updates, such as how to recover. And, am I the only one that thought the Ocarina of Time Medley was sweet?

The Medley was pretty sweet. I love hearing the amazing soundtrack in a musician’s point of view.

The music was really good. Actually i like the banana peel I actually thought about it at one point and thought it was a good idea. It might damage you but i think youll fall and be stunned like when your shield busts. This might turn out to be one of my favorite items because its like a miniture prank. A whole line of banana peels with someone trying to run through them is priceless XD. Theyd slip every 2 seconds. Heck i wonder if a stage like big blue makes it back that you could make the cars crash with the banana peel. That would be great. I wonder what they’ll come up with next.

I HOPE that this is from the donkey kong series. I LOVE donkey kong. I hope this means that donkey kong will be in ssbb.

I too loved the music update from yesterday. This item update wasn’t none any not too shabby neither. I hope we still get loads of new info/surprises when we actually pop the game in for ourselves. I know Sakurai has said he will probably reveal pretty much everything before the game is released, but… I hope he at least keeps a few characters/stages secret. Oh well…

Oh and yes, gaze into my nipples of the future and you will see that Donkey Kong is indeed returning for Brawl.

Eh, they seem just like a slightly-less destructive version of the motion-sensor bomb. It’s just another thing to add, and I’m all for anything new. Odds are they represent both of what you’re talking about. I’d love to see people try to use those on the Shy-Guys in the Mario Kart stage.

What does the item look like before you throw it? I mean does it start like a normal banana, you eat the actual banana to regain health, then toss the peel. Not too much of a bad thought.

Yeah it would be funny but i doubt it will. Thats why they have the gooey bomb. But it might happen you never know.

banana peels arent pointless. They serve a big role in the mario’s and DK’s universes. They were in mario kart, tennis, soccer, and baseball(DK’s and Diddy’s special hit and throw). So dont say they’re pointless.

And by the way, KirbyKid, that Zelda medley rocked. I could hear the Wild Arms influence (Michiko is the composer for that series,) through it and loved it, and the fact that it sounded pretty synthesized actually made it work for me. I mean, it’s really sort of a throwback to OoT that way. It’s not like we haven’t already heard every Zelda song EVER done with a huge orchestra already.

But the banana peel sounds awesome. Like I said right after it came out, and Kirby said a bit ago, it’s a bit like a motion sensor bomb. Only, instead of fighting over who gets blown up, you’re hovering over the peel waiting for a hapless victim to give you a chance to drop in and smash ‘em hard while they’re stunned.

So how long will that stun last, anyway?
