Besides, variation is a good thing.
I wont spoil my system, but more than 16 characs just wont work. If i ever decides to make a sequal, i might use another system so more are possible.
Snakes skills on the battlefield and debut in Smash Bros puts him on the list immediately.
I think people from other systems or realistic games, won't really work, it's too weird seeing Big Daddy with Mario, the characters are too out of universe, just my opinion again, maybe it'd work, but Marcus Fenix doesn't seem original or unique enough.

Jigglypuff is not impossible. But a love affair? Sorry, Jigglypuff wont have such a thing
Bub, Bob and Bomberman will go on maybe. I got a few ideas with Peppy Hare, so he will go directly to the characters list.

Pikachu dont got that much personality, so no. I dont know enough about Simon Belmont, so no. Cloud, Kirby, Link and Fox are already on maybe, as they are possible to make the cut, but not certain. When 16 characters are chosen, I will have a extra method to find the final results, involving the "maybe" characters. Marth is on because we need a swordsman.
Samus is already on the list. And Marth has been added.
MetaKnight will be putted on maybe. I dont want too many Nintendo characs anymore, but he is awesome. Megaman is already on maybe, but there is just too many hero-types. Some more arrogant types like Ken from Street Fighter or Bass from Megaman would be cool.
And Nightmare is in. First character to be moved from "maybe".
I dunno a thing about Kranos or Vincent, but Duke Nukem is cool and a more than welcome addition.
There already is a MGS character and Soul Calibur character. And i dunno much about any Final Fantasy characters, except Cloud
didn't see Samus, non=Nintendo characters...hmm...elderly...how about that old Doctor monkey from Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, then maybe characters from Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Rayman, like Coco or Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Gnasty Gnorc, Rayman, Ly the Fairy, Globox, Murfy, Razorbeard, etc.Samus is already on the list. And Marth has been added.
Ridley is too monstrous and just wont fit in. Or rather, he WOULD fit in, but i dont want too many Nintendo characters now... They are taking all the spots.
Right now, i am looking for:
-A elder character, not from Nintendo
-A monstrous character with personality, like Ridley, but not from Nintendo
-More women, not from Nintendo
There are just too many Nintendo characters, and this is for all companys
Crash Bandicoot will be putted on maybe. The rest are cool, but i want big variation in both personas and fightingstyles, so they dont works.
Megaman, Fox, Link and Cloud are just not interesting personas. You seem to forget that this isnt only about the fighting, but also the interaction. I wont cut Jigglypuff, as i got a plan with her, but Peppy Hare gets the cut.

I don't remember his personality or the wizard, it's been so long, but he would have a very unique fighting style and moveset, maybe.
