offtopic: i wonder why snake and sonic are not on the box art? they're friggin icons! i personally think the game would sell more if the cover had just mario snake and sonic, staring at you...

they want to surprise everyone who hasn't seen the website. they'll be like OMG SNAKE AND SONIC IS IN BRAWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But when regular people like us get it....we'll be like...cool, kinda knew 5 months before..though..how exciting.

We are then shown 4 people playing and they're each using a different control scheme. Mix that in with some gameplay and voila!

i rather see a baseball stadium...

the two wii guys jack a jumbo screen just for brawl.

Isai steps in. He says, "Don't get hit!" Then the screen goes to the game in which Isai pulls off an amazing zero-to-death combo. The camera then goes to Isai, who says, "My name is Isai Alvarado and I hope to play you online in Super Smash Bros. Brawl."

except i dont think that'd really advertise the game..more like advertising isai and trying to get him a bigger fanbase.

I doubt alot of people who saw the commercial would even know who he was.

Eh... The idea was to show off some of the cool techs you can do in Smash. An earlier version of the concept was to just show a bunch of combos and end with "This is Brawl!"

And then it'll show the car driving away.

heh, they need to revamp the n64 commercial, or pay homage to it in some way. That commercial was probably the sole reason I rented Smash64, only now to regard it as one of my favorite games, and to buy it like 2 days after returning it to blockbuster :x

I have an idea of what they should do for commercial. Play the music from the 2nd trailer and the beginning of the October 10th trailer. (same tune)

Show a small 5 second clip of SMB 1

Then show the screen pop up Mario like in th 2nd trailer

Show a small 5 second clip of LoZ Ocarina of Time

Then show screen pop up of Link

Show a small 5 second clip of Sonic the Hedgehog for Genesis

Then show screen pop up of Sonic

Show a small 5 second clip of Pokemon game

Then show screen pop up of Pikachu

Show a small 5 second clip of 5 second clip of Kirby's Dreamland for Gameboy

Then show screen pop up of Kirby

Show a small 5 second clip of Donkey Kong Country

Then show screen pop up of DK

Show a small 5 second clip of Star Fox for SNES

Then show screen pop up of Fox

Show a small 5 second clip of MGS 3

Then show screen pop of Snake

Show 10 second clip of Brawl fighting.

Then put the Logo coming in and put coming February 10th

Me too. I have no clue why people said they would broadcast commercials in..December or January.

What game in this world has made a commercial 2 months before it was released...? Game Commercials advertise so you can buy the game now or alteast inform you that the game is out.

Me: Halo 3 commercials were first on television a year before launch.

Probably around the week Brawl is released. I don't think they announce games months ahead of time for a commerical. It's usually when it's actually released, so they can say "in stores now".

I never have even seen the melee commercial. I had to youtube it just to see it existed.

I've got one, how about you see little kiddies playing Wii Sports, father and mother and granny are watching, suddenly you see a blue stripe going through the house, and after that there will all be proximity mines planted everywhere, then you see Sonic join Snake outside the house, they nod at eachother and Snake presses a button which causes the house to explode....when the explosion is over and the last parts of the house crumble apart, you'll see the rest of the Brawl cast on the other side of the house, looking really pissed...

A little too terrorist-like, but it would make me laugh

I just came up with a funny idea for a commercial.

It starts out exactly the same as any Wii commercial--the music plays and the blue mini car pulls up in a stranger's driveway. The camera is pointed towards the door from the inside of the house and the doorbell rings. A little kid goes to open it. But instead of the usual Asian guys, it's Ken and Isai! They do the "Wii would like to play" thing and then hook up Brawl to the TV. They play 2v2s with Ken and Isai destroying the family members. Ken pulls off the "no hands" for good measure. The commercial ends with the family getting really mad and kicking them out of the house.

No, there will be. But it won't be a real Brawl commercial.
Instead it'll be that "Wii would like to play" crap that focuses on advertising the Wii instead of the actual game that the grandpa and his grandchildren are playing.

Yeah, I'm terribly afraid they are going to do that, that did that with Metroid AND Mario Galaxy... WHY NINTENDO?!

Japanese commercial will be cool though, thank go for youtube!

You're ideas are awesome, go kidnap Isai and take him to Nintendo HQ's for testing/experiments to create multiple Isai clones that go directly to your house to deliver the game, punch you in the face and then say "don't get hit", then walk away...

I'm not trying to be an Isai fanboy. I could've switched Isai with Azen or something in the first one and used Cort and PC for the second.
The main things were:
1. The commercial being in the style of a combo video, since that would be cool and probably sell.
2. Challenge the players/entice them to play really good people online (see youtube comments).
3. Add humor.
