Brawl Arcade Machines?

I noticed that bralw is now a 8 directional game as oposed to melees 16 directionality, due to the fact that it uses a d-pad for movement(the d-pad only has eight directions) !

So if thats the case then it seems probable that it would be made into an arcade machine. Nintendo has made several games into arcade machines including f-zero and mario kart, plus arcade machines are ussually a standard in japan so i hope this works out like im thinking. Smash bros arcade machines could revive the arcade seen in the west!

I'd like to note that all arcade machine fighting games are egith directinal and none are 16 directions so it could use a convetional stick in case you dont understand where im coming from

I doubt that the game uses an eight directional setup for anything other than the wii remote, but it would be cool to have a smash bros arcade machine, though i doubt it would happen.

Well it atleast shows that it is playable with 8 directional. Have you ever tryed playing melee on an arcade stick? you can't really move properly.

Overanalyzation.
Maybee but it IS the standard for all fighting games to have an arcade version. Guilty Gear and Melty blood have recently come out with arcade counterparts for their games, and if capcom releases SF4 it WILL have an arcade version, so if nintendo wants to please *** fans (which they do) and make more money(which they do) i think they will do this.

That's interesting. I thought all arcade machine games were old. I didn't know current games were turned into arcade machines.

I guess it would be cool, though I doubt I'd ever use them. Melee isn't in arcade form, so I'd be surprised if they did it to Brawl.

Also, I don't think that something like having 8 directions instead of 16 really makes an impact on Nintendo's deciding whether or not to turn it into and arcade game. That just comes from having to use a simplified controller. So I wouldn't look too far into it.

The last thing we need is to make the Smash competative sceen like 3s or MvC2.

This idea can go to hell.
Yeah I agree with Eternal phoenix Fire....I would hate for Smash to be like MvC2 or something like that....lets drop this idea please and stick with our systems

Btw, where did you get the idea that Melee was 16 directional, or that arcade sticks can't be analog.

Melee used analog sticks for movement.

They can make analog arcade sticks.

They COULD have made melee arcade machines.
While I would like the idea of going to my local arcade and playing smash with people, I doubt Nintendo would do it, since melee is a party style fighting game.

And, if they did, it would be like the mario kart arcade machines, and be JAPAN ONLY.
The arcade scene died in the us, but in japan its going strong.

Melee IS 16 directional and arcade sticks typically aren't analog they are 8 direction if you look at fighting game arcade machines. I dont know if its just not cost effective to make it more than 8 directional or whatever but they dont do it.

and to all that say drop the idea simply because they dont like it shut up. who cares if you only like consol games it doesn't mean everybody else does.

and i know it would be japan only i don't care i'd import.

lol im glad people here hate other gaming scenes.. thats horribly hypocritical.
Well, I don't think we hate them. We just don't really use them. Arcades don't have the type of game we're looking for.

Nowadays, arcades have been supplanted by gaming consoles and computers. If you want to play a bunch of small, cheap games for a high score, just go to one of the many online "arcades" with Flash games.

arcades are huge in japan so why would they not port it to arcade just in japan? it has nothing to do with an international release and it would happen later anyway.

Hmm... the controls would be beat for an arcade though... what about the L-trigger? would there be like, a kind of joy stick for a flight sim with a trigger on it
wiimote controls have shown that trigger functions can be relegated to a button.
