Im sorry if there is already a topic like this ^_^
But Im battling a pikachu user soon and I wonder if anyone can give me tips/advice for facing the yellowrat in battle ? =]
Im mostly worried about Pika's thunder being spamed....and how good Pika is in air compaired to bowser.
thanks for any help you can give ^_^

EDIT: Also...I had some promblems VS fox...a LV9 CPU fox...is the only thing my bowser can't beat (CPU wise anyway) any tips for that ?

Pika is relatively easy to fight.

I remember the downsmash used to be probelmatic for most, however..
Mash left and right to DI and escape his downsmash. That dumbSHlT dont work against me, im already after it mostly after the 2nd or 3rd shock.

Edgehog alot so its harder for it to recover. Jab the thundershocks he throws at you in instead of blocking..

Expect the pika to up-b into you and attack, so shiled and up-b when dat happens.
Do ALOT of Up-b's out the shield. Nuff said.

WIth this it should be a piece of cake seriously. GL

Under the leve? wat stage are u guys gonna be playing on?

As far as I know, there is no pikachus going under a level to do thunders in tournament stages. Tips for thunder? Dodge
Them things are very easy to avoid.

He must be a noob. U should be fine.

Also remember that pika has so many more options that Dsmash and thunder...

his jab is broken on bowser...its like a free 90% just note that down...

these statements are true for almost every charecter vs. pika:
his grabs are a pain if your in a hurry to get out of them...
and dont bother trying to gimp... it wont happen...(unless he is using skull bash.)

Just follow the grime...
Ok, none of you seem to actually know ANYTHING about how a good pika plays. First of all, anyone who says the matchup is pretty easy, I welcome you to play me.

Pikachu can chain grab Bowzer across the stage and back. In addition, his little combos rack up damage ridiculously fast on such a big and easy to hit target. Next, How the heck do you intend on dealing with Tjolt? If the pika wants to camp, you have no option but to come up close to him, and then pika wiill just undress and **** you with his speed.

If any of you don't know what QACing is from pika, it screws you over. And I would suggest finding out about it as it can be used as mind games, an approach, or even just continually going back and forth attacking at a ridiculous speed. Thunder punishes you if you get knocked high up or off the stage, most pika players will anticipate your defensive manuevers and move accordingly before thundering. Good pikas WONT spam thunder as has been stated earlier.

Bowzer is actually a VERY good matchup for pika, and I would be willing to play any of you to back up that statement.

Pikachu can't chaingrab Bowser, Bowser can jump out of it. If you're referring to the down throw regrab one.

Bowser can jab away the thunderjolts pretty easily.

QAC cannot be spammed against Bowser, of Pikachu will eat a Whirling Fortress. Thunder can be Air Dodged 100% if the Bowser player pays any attention to the Pikachu's positioning.

Pikachu is still a hard fight for Bowser, but it's mostly because he's fast, small, and hard to edgeguard...Thankfully he dies around 80%-100%, (before hit) whereas Bowser shouldn't be dying before 110% (except for a mis-dodged high-thunder)

Kind of obvious isn't it? Pikachu is superior to Bowser. Not even his insane power will help against such a skilled aerial fighter. You must get your kills with edgeguarding or after racking up more damage than usually so that even a tilt can kill.

Running around helps against Thunder spam because it both has preparation time and lag so you are save for a while if it fails. If you are only a bit above Pikachu and he is likely to use thunder, then quick fall and use the Side-B to grab Pikachu, move both of you away from the descending thunder, and maybe use the chance to bowsercide.

Further hints: Do not use the following attacks while fighting Pikachu.
D-Tilt (Short Hop and F-Air counters it so easily...)
D-Air (Pikachu Will punish you even if it hits)
U-Air (Same principle)

The following attacks are situational:
F-Smash (Now it's time for you to punish a failed Pikachu F-Smash, Thunder, or a side-b recover)
D-Smash (So I herd some Pikaichewz roll towards you and then just do D-Smash?)
Bowser Bomb (Only use this if Pikachu is likely to do his slow F-Smash or after grab releasing. First hit must hit if you don't want to be punished. Not sure about the grab release though. Check the Bowser grab release thread for more information)
B-Air (Should only be used to attempt juggling and edge guarding. Maybe even for fun mindgames since Bowser's aerial game is underestimated for a reason. The Claw is always forgotten though. *grin*)

Leaving out Fox on purpose because it's partly the same thing as with Pikachu.

Just remeber that fox and pika are litter than you are.

Fox- Watch out for down air up smash combo. When fox players get worried they tend to repeat this over and over again until you fall for it. Dont rush the match. I have been punished for this many times and finnaly learnt my lesson.

Pika-Just hope they are not a noob and spam. If they are really that good with pikachu that wont need to spam to win. So just make sure you have your act togehter.

Only thing i can say is, make sure your tilt spacing is precise, and up+B out of shield never fails :D
