Hey, Iam Tock

Iam not trying to bash you iam just here to help.

for now Try not to use Down B
Bowser is not very nimble or good at dodging so waiting and shielding will help
(also Practice Shield grabs R+A)

Don't be Aggresive unless you are forced to be by projectiles and camping.

Use Up B on the ground if he gets inside or behind you.

Use Jab as a very quick move if they are in front of you.

Luigi is very airbourn a good way to counter that is your up tilt which can hit above and behind you and is very strong.

here is one of my matches use it as reference.

Hmmm....limit the use of Down+B, it's too slow to land in most situations.

If he is hanging on the edge and not jumping off and back on to get invincibility frames, just use down tilt to hit him off. Fire breath wont reach unless you are at the edge, and f-smash definitely won't touch him. Also try not to be so predictable with your forward smash. Don't even attempt to use the forward smash if he's below 60% because it probably won't kill him even if it hits. Charging it makes it even slower. You're lucky that one connected, Luigi landed right in it.

Vary your approaches a little more. Use short hop fire breath and the short hopped f-air or Forward+B to mix things up rather than rely on just your dash attack. Take advantage of u-tilt and d-tilt. I didn't see you use them at all (or grabs), and they are pretty fast, strong attacks. Also DODGE more and shield more lol. As a general rule in any Smash match, don't throw out or start charging attacks if you don't think there's a chance it will hit. During that time, you could be maneuvering to get into better positions and you'll be able to shield and dodge and roll.

Also, stop aiming your forward tilt upward unless your opponent is in the air lol, Luigi ducked under one during d-smash. It would've landed it it was going straight or down.

With practice you'll be able to get better. Your friend made a ton of mistakes too. Like standing around when he could've been punishing your missed attacks.

EDIT: This is regarding the Bowser vid, so you know.

Eh, it was mostly spacing issues that you'll learn with time and practise. Though this: "f-smash definitely won't touch him." while mostly true, isn't exactly true. It CAN hit someone holding onto the ledge and CAN be a decent edge guard, but the spacing has to be VERY precise. I've never done it successfully myself, but I have seen it done so I know it's possible. Mostly, it's best not try as their are usually better options.

The Bowser Bomb really has one purpose and that is to get back to the stage as Bowser will auto grab ledges. So if you find youself in the air, something Bowser can deal with, but would prefer not to, just DI to the nearest ledge and Bomb to it. From there, you have much better options. It's great if someone thinks they can hit Bowser from below and you have a ledge beneath you, because DownB his priority over... well, almost everything. And it's start up lag is very minimal. DownBing to the center of the stage is not a good idea. Too much lag. Most of your Fsmashes were pretty well spaced, but it's not something you should relie on. Ftilt, Jab, Grabs, SideB, and UpB should be the moves you use most often. Ftilt and Jab because they're his faster moves with darn good range; Grabs because Bowser has a large assortment of options with grabs (see appropriate thread); SideB (see also, Special Grab/Koopa Klaw) because it does good damage, pretty good KO potential and sets up Bowser's better aerials nicely (Uair, Fair, and sometimes Bair); and UpB because it's called Fortress for a reason. It has invincibility frames. And it's amazing out of shield (or OoS to use a bit of Smash jargon you may or may not be familure with).

Oh yeah, and Bowser's shield is GIGANTIC. Please use it. Bowser was built take the blows and pummel when they foolishly get to close.

Other than that, read the stickies. The epic guide thread is nice, mostly a quick run down of Bowsers moves and what you should generally do with them. And the grab thread is nice to read up on if you have time to prepare for a paticular match. For instance, if you can grab Wario, congradulations, you have yourself a fat little italian man you can use and abuse as you please... although, you have to actually grab him which is nigh impossible if they know what they're doing.

But don't worry too much about dodging though. Spot dodging with Bowser is pretty laggy you really shouldn't bother with rolling as UpB can do the same thing... only it's an attack with invincibility frames.

But yeah, stickies and shield. And the vid thread. Some nice stuff in there.

Everybody uses Ike lol

Bowser's more unique. I actually think he's got more potential than Ike.

PS: Don't use f-smash and Eruption with Ike so much. He kept running into them, thats why you landed them. Use some aerials, and jab more, and dodge/shield more.

way less laggy aerials when unneeded. You'd just D-air when above him while you really shouldn't try that on luigi. You also did a B-air out of nowhere. Weegee could've ran up and up-B'ed you. And yes, less down-B

SHIELD MORE. 45 seconds in I still didn't see a shield or up-B, just laggy aerials.
Just try more with Bowser :)
SH F-air is your best aerials approach, it's lagless landing.

All the times you were killed came from some laggy move which failed to connect. First there was the down-B, then the B-air, then the dash attack.

Oh yeah, dash attack fails hard. It should be used only when... well, I can't really think of any good time to dash attack.

everything beats downb :( even when peach is floating down after her upb the piss weak umbrella will stop you.
Really? ****... that's stupid. You'd think that a Bowser falling that fast would have everything beat when it comes to priorities...

Well then, you should probably be DownBing to the edge regardless, just be careful of parasols.
