A Bowser challenge is going around and the objective is to beat 3 AI Bowsers, under these conditions:

1) Fight 3 LV9 Bowsers on the same team
2) You can be any character you want
3) Friendly Fire: OFF
4) Items: OFF
5) Stage: Battlefield
6) Time(this is a MUST): 8mins
7) You MUST beat all 3 Bowsers, this isn't about surviving the 8 minutes.
8) NO HAX

There's no rule against changing the Damage Ratio, as mailanbr (the person who brought up the challenge) points out--but abusing that can make it too easy. I shut off the Damage Gauge on purpose to make it harder to know when to kill the Bowsers, while they can kill me fast anyway, AI or no.

(And you may notice a similar topic on the Ness board. That's because I did the Bowser Challenge as Ness already, without even being aware of its existence then no less.)

I didn't make the challenge. mailanbr did. Ask him. I simply did the challenge, and also wanted to show that Olimar is overpowered.

Just try out the challenge as Olimar. You'll have a field day if you don't do what MAST3RLINKX did and abuse the Pikmin Chain trick to set the Bowsers up for repeated spiking. Olimar is so reliant on his ground game for a lightweight that if he doesn't play his cards right, then he will have to fight his way through a nasty war of attrition, certainly the last thing you'll want against the 3 Bowsers. (This actually furthers my point that he's potentially broken: him being able to *survive* such a thing. Next thing you know, Olimar will make "Fascinating" his catch phrase. Oh wait. He has the personality for that possibility, though he's no sadist.)

This is an ancient challenge, and I believe HugS started this.

Is there an actual point to this thread, or does anyone actually believe that fighting 3 level 9 CPUs prove anything?

As fun as this may be, I'm surprised people are taking credit for this where it's not due.

Then here's an idea: you do it yourself. And no overabusing the Pikmin Chain trick, ESPECIALLY to set up spiking.

Doing this against CPUs instead of real players just completely subverts the point.

Because fighting 3 powerful heavies in a small enough area where their attacks hit frequently enough isn't the least bit difficult. Never mind that I'm using a character whose specialty is so susceptible to this that it's not even funny.

I can't say this thread is going to be interesting to the Oliamr Boards, to be honest. I'm not going to close it right away in the off chance that there will be some interest, but if it seems like i need to, i will.

How can you people not seem excited. He just beat the bowser challenge! This is gamebreakering.
I'll give it a 6/5.

You're supposed to fight 3 actual players, not computers. Computers are easy.

I tried it against DJ Nintendo, Vex, and NL at a tourney and it's impossible. You might get 3 stocks if you play amazingly.

This. Real people is what your meant to do it as, CPUs just won't cut it. I could beat it with CPUs if I used MK and just spammed tornado all match.

Sounds like you people here would rather do 2+2 with a freaking calculator. Really, if it's so easy, then you do it, and no particularly cheap tricks or other AI Breakers. Heck, MAST3RLINKX took at least maybe 20 tries WITH the Pikmin Chain trick in tandem with spiking. (He had late 90s KOs shown in his video, in case you're wondering how I figure that.)

And Olimar is NOT one of the easier characters to do the Bowser challenge with at all. It took FEWER tries with Ness, and I was merely trying to make a point about continuous hitboxes against big targets with him, in fact not even having been aware of the challenge to begin with. That's because Olimar relies on the ground game that the Bowsers are advantaged against.

It is that easy.

All you need to do is plank with uair and chain. CPUs can't beat any form of planking.

Anyway, this isn't even the real Bowser challenge.

Yeah this doesn't really deserve its own thread in the olimar boards. I suggest you either make a separate thread in a different board (such as general discussion with it including more characters than just olimar), or if you really want to talk to the olimar community about it, talk about it in the social thread.
