Sadly, that's taking over here in the German-speaking area. The German language uses no apostrophes at all (with very few exceptions), and no language uses apostrophes to pluralize.

But the whole anglicizing of other languages takes the first victims. The possessive apostrophe already became kinda common (albeit wrong), and I've seen sooooo many plural apostrophes.

It's saddening.

Yeah, plural apostrophes are beginning to be a pet peeve of mine...it just looks stupid.

I would usually shout at people for using the word "I'm" since it is a contraction. The use of contractions is not pleasantly accepted in formal writing.

But due since this is not a formal writing, I will let you pass.

As a Grammar Nazi, I'd just like to point out that we don't mind the use of contractions. We are not interested in you using the most proper and delicate English possible. We are merely strongly for the use of correct spelling and grammar, as well as proper use of punctuation.

Misinformed stereotype is misinformed.
