So today I found out that Link's bomb blows up when it hits Samus' bomb. Am I a n00b or what?!

Posting for anyone who didn't know, don't you be throwing your OLD comments at me sisters!

EDIT - When Link's bomb hits Samus' bomb they BOTH blow up I mean, no matter where they are (in the air or on the ground).

Im pretty sure Samus bomb always explodes and does damage (or in this case, make the link bomb explode) if it gets hit... no matter how. It has total priority.

Something else that I have never noticed until a few weeks ago is that if you hold downward while standing on the edge of a platform, link can throw a bomb off the ledge and it will go slightly diagonal.

Link can also do this with other items like pokeballs, etc. But to my knowledge he is the only character that can throw stuff off a ledge.

I think that video is of the Japanese version which has the special slide.

Only Link's Bombs can defeat the devilish Samus' Bombs, every other proyectile will pass through it and it will hit you if you try to attack it, it cannot be reflected or absorbed. Samus' Down B is that good xP.

SUPER EDITZ: However, if you want to take other throwable Items into account, these are the items that can detonate Samus' Down B...

Barrel
Box
"Capsule"(not sure if it is a capsule)
Bob-omb
Red Shell
Green Shell

Everything else passes through it.

guess i'll add more stuff to this:

if you hit a certain spot of link's bomb with his standing neutral you can hit it instead of exploding on you

not really related but make sure to avoid your boomerang when trying to setup a boomerang edgeguard when you're off the stage because it can return to you and by the time Link puts it away, the ledge is too far for you to reach

No. Fox's laser won't detonate it.

Some consensus on this? I assume Isai is right, but just want to make sure there aren't any nuances to it. Edit: nvm

DK can do it, too, as demonstrated here by the CPU (of all things, lol). This leads me to believe every character can do it, unless I'm mistaken.

to my knowledge most characters can throw items downwards when on the edge of a stage/platform.

i do it with fox ness mario and link pretty often. i'm not positive about all of them but i don't see why not.

You can also do similar things with Links Upsmash while facing the correct direction (I think it's right).

Also you can hit links bomb with his own Nair and bounce it at people, but you have to hit someone with the nair first (not the same nair) I think. I forgot exactly how it works, but I can do it.

I took a couple of minutes and tested the down-throwing diagonal platform thing... On the Hyrule Tower platforms, every character but Samus, Yoshi, and C. Falcon could do it. However, on the Dreamland platforms, every character but C. Falcon could do it. So I guess it depends on the platforms as well as characters.

Btw Samus' bomb blows up when it hits Link's bomb because Samus' bomb automatically blows up when it hits something with a hurtbox, and Link's bomb has a hurtbox unlike most other projectiles. The explosion of Samus' bomb is then strong enough to blow up Link's bomb (anything 7% damage and above)

Samus has the strongest smash attack in the whole game. Her Usmash can deal a total of 50 % damage if all five of her shots hit the opponent. It can also break shields. For e.g. if you're below a platform and the other player shields.

Spiking a damaged, grounded character is the best way to link into that (you usually get at least 3 hits).

DK's initial arm winding frames (giant punch) doesn't charge the punch. Probably old.

Jake is definitely dropping Yoshi
I know everyone knows this, but some may not (or get it confused with melee/brawl)

Kirby's suicide neutral B always causes Kirby to die first, unless the opponent breaks out of it. The opponent, if they have a good enough recovery (and depending on the stage) can even recover while Kirby dies.

Very likely new ;)

On kirbycides, kirbys fthrow one means kirby dies first, allowing a pikachu to recover on some stages, such as the left side of saffron and congo.

if Link throws a bomb straight up from Hyrule pit and Fox stands on middle stage and down-tilts the bomb with the tip of his tail, Fox will not explode and take damage
