A couple of them know, and one of them found out by pure chance. Maybe one day I'll be comfortable with telling them casually.A few of your cousins know, correct? If you consider telling the rest of your family at some point somehow, I wish you luck with it.
And....sweet Jesus.. It sounded like a rather simple glitch at first, yet it has THAT many extreme game-breaking side effects? Sometimes even what may seem like only very small errors can cause a game to completely screw itself over....
Not competitively, as I don't own any games so I play them if they're available when I make my biweekly visits, but I do check out the games and play them when I can. After I get an Eshop gift card to buy some dlc I'll start saving up for either a previous game or for sun and moon.
I've actually considered telling mine at some point during this year, but I don't know if I'm going to go through with that.47

Yup, it's quite a distinct glitch. I've seen one instance where the irregularity detected screen popped up meaning that it can mess with the SRAM (which is pretty much the memory for the game) and I've seen another instance where an incompatibility screen popped up but I'm not sure if it was on a SNES or an emulator. How this glitch happens has a lot to do with the game being able to pull data from pretty much anywhere in the game and it extends to save data which explains the deleted save files. I'm not much of an expert when it comes to programming so I'm going by what I've heard and the info I have is the most likely explanation as to why it happens.
And there I go rambling again.
It won't? Huh. Guess I was wrong about that part.61 bob-ombs
it wont harm the disc or your gamecube/wii tho
Plot twist: Your family knew the whole time.I've actually considered telling mine at some point during this year, but I don't know if I'm going to go through with that.
Well if that is the cause, then it makes sense that a bug like that could cause the game to screw up so much of it's data so easily. Still kind of odd to think about how what might seem like small bugs can lead to several other far greater glitches, regardless.
This talk about game-breaking glitches just now reminded me of Melee's "Black Hole" glitch. I remember being stunned when I first saw a video of that glitch in action, even more so upon seeing someone do the "Supernova" version.. I have considered attempting it before to experiment with it personally, but I've never gone through with it as I believe it's been known to cause severe damage to the game, and the last thing I want is to ruin a Melee disc and render it unusable. Besides, finding new Gamecube discs in good condition at decent prices is no longer an easy task, so replacing it wouldn't be easy either.
You know at times I actually wish that was the case because it would likely mean they wouldn't care so much and it would mean I'd no longer have to worry about thinking up a way to tell it to them. lol. And that might be a good place to start. I actually have told my two closest friends about it and they didn't mind. I mean, they were quite surprised to hear it, but that was about it, lol.66

Maybe someday I'll tell 'em. Hell, I'd be more comfortable with telling my friends first and foremost.
Ah yes, the Supernova glitch. That is capable of killing the sound and is an absolute marvel to look at. Another glitch I remember is actually one from Battle For Bikini Bottom where you position yourself in front of a rock and in front of the loading zone for Jellyfish Fields. You have to trigger the special animation that plays when you cross the red line and the game resets your position. As the game drags you across the screen, you can actually trigger the prompt that allows you to enter the level. Press A (or was it start? It's been awhile) as this happens and you'll hear the taxi sound; the game will reset your position and if you do the same thing again, the game won't reset your position but rather take you to Jellyfish Fields. Now jump onto the sand below where the game would normally reset your position and you'll find that the hand that resets your position is now disabled. You can go out of bounds to reach places you were never meant to get to and the best part is that you can keep the effects of this glitch no matter where you go, it's actually kind of amazing.
Goddammit, I typed another wall of text.
Well, at least your friends are good people. I don't think mine would mind that much, hell they know a teacher who likes it (a few of them anyway). You know at times I actually wish that was the case because it would likely mean they wouldn't care so much and it would mean I'd no longer have to worry about thinking up a way to tell it to them. lol. Battle for Bikini Bottom was the first video game I ever played....I've had it since I was like 6, yet I've never known about that glitch in all my years of owning....I still own my original copy so now that I know about it I might just have to give it a try. I had always wondered what it would be like to explore those areas that were off-limits, even if they're mostly empty as a result of not being meant to be explored. Speaking of this game, while it's not really a glitch, this makes me recall this one little spot in a level of the Mermalair that the developers somehow overlooked and left unfinished, letting you see into the glitchy outs of bounds zone beyond the interior of the level. It has this really weird visual effect involved with the camera's viewpoint. I don't know if the effect has a specific name or how to accurately describe it, but I've seen effects just like it in out of bounds areas in other games as well.
You seem to know a lot of extreme glitches.
They very much are. I'm really grateful to have them as my friends. I actually told them about it while we were at a bowling ally while my mother was there and all, but it didn't appear as though she heard anything about it whatsoever.72

The camera isn't exactly the best, haha. Seems like the devs forgot to fix that spot up.
I find these out simply by looking online and being bored enough. Here's a few other glitches I know of:
I ran up against a wall in Pikmin 1 and somehow teleported back to a certain point in the level.
I had Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 load the wrong color palette.
In Sonic Unleashed, I completed a stage in 0 minutes and 0 seconds (I know how to do this one too).
Pokemon Colosseum has a glitch that allows you to duplicate the Master Ball and it's easy to do.
Smash 4 has a hilarious glitch involving Nabbit and characters getting stuck to him.
In Banjo-Tooie, I activated a prompt while also firing a grenade egg at the same time and it crashed the game (I wasn't even trying to do this either, it just happened lol)
I'm not the glitch master, I have yet to place a game into a glitchy state right from the start and beat the game. I know of other people who can cause glitches to happen without even trying to do it.
Ah, I see. Since a few of my friends know a teacher who likes the show along with a few other people, I'm not that worried frankly. They very much are. I'm really grateful to have them as my friends. I actually told them about it while we were at a bowling ally while my mother was there and all, but it didn't appear as though she heard anything about it whatsoever.
Most of those glitches just sound plain bizarre... I used to read about glitches very often myself simply because I was curious and wanted to know what weird things were possible (Zelda games were the ones I read the most about when it came to glitches) in games, but rarely attempted them unless they actually did something really interesting. Said glitches were usually complicated or could lead to game crashes. Either I didn't attempt them for one other reason or another, or if I did attempt them I would fail to perform them spectacularly.
Even still, you've definitely got a strong knowledge of game glitches from what I've seen.
