Honestly, I don't think Karl Marx did any "mistakes"; Socialism was born with noble intentions, like ending exploitation of workers and achieving equality. Kinda same for Lenin too.

Actually, if you look around, Socialist ideas have made it to modern democracies, such universal education and health care.

Stalin was an all around evil guy though.

Honestly, I'd place him just below Hitler on the list of the most evil dictators ever.

imo I'd have to say you're both right.. he was an evil Dictator but he was just as paranoid as Hitler was but Hitler was starting, if he hadn't already, to go insane due to unmentionable reasons that are taboo on this site.. Stalin did Purge members of his cabinet because he didn't want them to rise up against him and he had a cause to be paranoid with the amount of people that would let him die if given the chance because of the fear they gained from him was too much for them to act deliberately against him. what he did was cruel and he was afraid that he would be assassinated by an opposing party member..

It's morbidly humorous how he died in the end...
No one came to check on him as they were afraid that disturbing him might get them killed... It was only after 24 hours had passed and the guards were certain that he had not moved from his bed during that time (by the pressure sensors that were installed in his room) that they dared go inside. They were that scared of him. >_>

there's also another theory.. some believe that he was poisoned and they didn't check up on him so the effects would kill him without being cured of the poison.. but this is just a theory
