It might be your luck (or misfortune) that you're a Diglett in mine. You'll become something quite fast but you're quite frail now and you'll still be when you evolve. At least you'll be useful for the next gym assuming you don't die by the time I get there.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I got the Vs. Seeker which will make grinding a lot easier since you get more experience from trainers than you do from wild Pokemon.
