That wasted encounter got me all riled up... I should calm my nerves and go fishing in that pond in Ecruteak... Do something relaxing...

... ...

:129: Splashes into the fray!

This sudden surprise encounter caught me off guard, and next thing I know, I wound up catching it.

Think I shall call this weak fish... "Koi."

So would these be good Nuzlocke rules to follow?

  • Any Pokémon that faints can't be used again
  • Only one Pokémon can be caught per area
  • All caught Pokémon must be given a nickname
  • A black out/white out is a "game over"
  • No voluntary resets in the game
  • The species clause and shiny clause will be followed as well

"all caught Pokemon must be named" is an optional rule actually lol

Yes, and there are additional rules you can add if you want to (there are a lot of them too).
Like the species clause for example, where if you catch a specific Pokemon, you can't catch that Pokemon again if you find it in another route.
Or the shiny clause where if you happen to run into a shiny Pokemon in a route where you already caught something, you are allowed to catch it. But the odds of this happening are low so I doubt you'd ever need this clause.
As long as you have the core rules of the challenge then you're fine. These are merely optional rules that you can implement to make your run more interesting/challenging.
