Cat in the Hat turned out okay, imo

However, I think it's because Mike Myers was in it and not the actual movie

Being honest, out of all the Seuss books adapted into live action, I think Cat in the Hat got the worst of it. At least with the Grinch live action adaptation, I was simply bored by the whole thing (the filler didn't help). Here, I just wanted the film to end by the half way point as I kept cringing the entire time.

Worst part about the Cat in the Hat for me was the adult jokes. I don't mind them every now and then as I said earlier, but there are points where a line gets crossed. Not to mention, it's still Dr. Seuss, so adult jokes don't even have a place in such a film.

Even some of the more modern CGI-adaptions aren't usually very good either. Most of the time they take away from the original story by putting in cliche-movie storytelling.
