I don't personally get that sort of vibe from it, but I suppose I can understand nonetheless.

If you can find any time to at least start with the first episode, you should. You don't necessarily have to binge-watch it.

^^Disney and Gravity Falls had that effect on me too, I thought it'd be incredibly stupid. But then I watched the preview episode and ended up LOVING it.

Heck, Nickelodeon had a commercial for MLP's S2 finale (I'm guessing Hasbro's advertising, that commercial was probably on a few other channels too) and did a pretty good job of making it sound boring to me. I eventually ended up loving MLP too.
