Well I almost always feel that way around other people. I don't know why.
I'm kind of used to it but it still wears on me sometimes.

It isn't new by any means.
I can't get any psychological help; even if I could somehow tell my parents, they sure as heck wouldn't take it seriously enough to seek professional help.

If one of my family had a heart attack, they probably wouldn't take the symptoms seriously enough until it was too late to reach a hospital in time, lol. OK, so maybe that's exaggerating, but they definitely wouldn't seek help for mental issues that they would consider superfluous.

The fact that you got used to it, happens every now and then and that your parents don't want to help you only makes it sadder and, frankly, I think your parents are really dumb if they think your problems aren't serious enough; my parents would be worried sick for a lot less than that.

Well, they'd be really sympathetic/concerned, but they wouldn't actually do much to fix it.
That's always how my family has been.

That explains the super sad frowny-wowny avatar....

I think I'll borrow a page from Rarity's book here....

That's absolutely awful.

Like SG said, stay strong. If you can't get your family to help at all, then you gotta at least try to work through it on your own.

That said, we're still here to support you as well. Always remember that.

Found this little gem in Jay's profile: "Life will always give you reason to be sad. It's up to you to find a reason to be happy in its place."

I think you should find that reason, @ JayTheUnseen JayTheUnseen

Yeah, your support means a lot to me, it truly does. I mean, emotinally, it's kinda my most treasured thing. I mean, my family are decent people, but they just are so different from me, and they just don't seem very...accepting.

They're are a multitude of ways to find happiness you need to find the best way that suits you and one that you enjoy.

So in a way you're like Pinkie Pie and her family before she got her Cutie Mark..

It's awful to see that random people on the Internet give you more support that your own parents... :(

Maybe that's why you're so down every once in a while.

If my parents and I got into a talk about psychologists, I can bet they'd essentially make the point, 'A psychologist can't do anything we can't,' or 'a psychologist is just some guy who picked his nose during college.' ( My dad says that all the time about doctors. )

My parents are decent people, but one thing you can't do is tell them they're wrong.

Your father's ignorance just made my day!

But I really shouldn't laugh about it, given the current situation.

Besides, everyone knows that it's the programs involving computers that requires nose-picking :chuckle:

....can your dad tell the difference between jaundice and hypothermia? Between swine flu and influenza? Between a common cold and an allergy?

I think he should take some of those medical classes. He needs to be able to appreciate doctors for what they are....

but in all seriousness, it's pretty sad that us strangers on the internet care when your own parents don't.

I have no idea what in the world could've caused the both of them to go into mindsets like that, but it won't change how dumb and awful it is of them to be like that.

Well, he certainly acts very confident in his diagnosises, but yes, I realize his claims are pretty crazy.

It isn't that they don't care, I just think they'd fail to treat it with the necessary gravity.

I guess that mindset is what happens when you have 50 year old parents who successfully raised two kids to adulthood before you.

I just feel too different from them to feel much connection.

Goodnight though. I'm sure I'll feel fine tomorrow, I'm full of mood swings.

You're their own son! Their flesh and blood!! If they can't make some kind of connection with you, there's already a problem.... :(

I'm 'fraid I can't help you on this one, but I wish you strength.... :crying:

I doubt they're the problem, it's just me. I was just born different from them, and we can't change that. It sounds sulky, but this household would be more harminous without me, I DO cause issues.

Stop! Please, stop!

You're a great person, Jay, so please, stop blaming yourself for those problems, it'll only make things worse. Not saying it's your parents' fault, though.

One last thing before I go; I trust that, for their part, they do love me; they've shown legit concern for me before; I just can't quite find it in me to really love them in return.

But then, @ JayTheUnseen JayTheUnseen - you're not following Christ's example. You claim to be a Christian, but if you can't love your parents, who obviously love you, then you aren't doing what Jesus would do.
