Don't know who was nerfed the most cuz I'm hearing a lot of different opinions and havn't seen a whole lot of gameplay so far but Ness is BACK baby lol...sucked in melee but I think I might be going back to him for Brawl. Def the biggest buff in my opinion.

Within the confines of my mortal shell in T-Town.
My number one reason for loving Brawl as much as I do is that spacies (two of whom I unhappily mained) have been toned down, whilst MANY low tier chars (Bowser, Luigi, Ness, G&W, and Zelda all come to mind; I love playing as them in Melee), which for me were much more fun to use because unlike high-tier chars with ironed-out strategies and play styles designed to maximize their potential, could be played much more improv and fluidly and more often than not I could win improvising with a low-tier char (Luigi or G&W) against someone playing a high-tier (Fox or Marth) by the book. simply because I generally knew what they would do while their utter dependence on tiers as something that functioned outside of skill (which they certainly don't) meant that they never played low-tier chars viewing them as weak and were thus totally unprepared.

Yes, that is one giant stab in the heart for sentence structure purists everywhere. Sue me.

Fav. buff: Luigi (FINALLY, HE'S ACTUALLY DECENT!)
Fav. nerf: Link (Just rubbing it in the faces of everyone who still thinks Link has not always been one of the worst chars EVER.)

TyfighterLAND. Location#2: Illinois? Yeah.
Biggest Buff: Kirby (though his ^B does not spike, he is slightly heavier, jumps slightly higher, range and strength increased pretty good)
Biggest Nerf: Ganondorf (even slower than in Melee, he just doesn't fair with me without L-cancelling)
Little change: DK (still the low popular character from all of his Smash appearances)

Nerf: Maybe... Falcon? No, it's not Samus or Spacies or Link or DK and certainly not Marth
Buff: I think Zelda and G&W will move up most on the tier-list-that-doesn't-exist-yet :bee:

Honestly I feel like they buff'd DK, maybe no the most, but he is definitely stronger. His moveset is almost identical to Melee, and timing is just about the same as well, but some moves (standard air) are MUCH more useful. Having mained DK in both Melee and now in Brawl, I honestly feel that they perfected DK in Brawl. My only problem with him is that he is just too much fun :embarrass...

I'm undecided as to who had the biggest nerf.

But honestly, the biggest buff is Zelda. No contest. I actually played her in Melee, she's lightyears better in Brawl. Although Bowser is a lot better as well, the changes to Zelda are like night and day.

No, Zelda is NOT the most improved. You guys who say so have NOT seen G&W.

Landing her kill moves is very difficult because she doesn't have huge mobility, and because the sweetspot opportunity is more demanding in this game. Any character can give her a lot of trouble by pressuring her. If you get inside of her sweetspot range, she has a tough time dealing with most characters due to having more limited point blank range options. If she whiffs her F-air or B-air, she gets punished. Her Up-air also requires spacing to set up. Din’s Fire can’t do much up close, and her Smashes are still DIable. Her defense is noticably mediocre when characters get closer to her.

G&W was considered worse than Zelda in Melee. G&W has absolutely no bad attacks, and he doesn’t rely on sweetspotting to kill at all. His attacks have nice big solid hitboxes. One thing Zelda doesn’t have that G&W has is a shield breaking attack. G&W does this with his B-air, and he can approach, put pressure, shield stab, and do a lot of damage with this one attack. G&W also has a techchase throw. Another thing Zelda doesn’t have. He has the best attack in the game for countering projectile spamming, especially Zelda’s, and that is his Down B, which kills at much lower percentages in Brawl than in Melee. His recovery is also way better than Zelda’s due to being able to attack out of it. His Smashes lastly are stronger than Zelda’s. G&W by far is the better character in Brawl, thus logically he’s much more improved than Zelda is.

On an unrelated note, Link is better than he was in Melee. Not by as much as other characters, but he's better due to overall being a little faster without losing much strength, and because the Z-air is really awesome as a spacing attack.

Dk is NOT the biggest nerf, he's overall improved.

Link has NOT been overall nerfed, the only thing legitimately nerfed is his upB, as not its only situational (has much better recovery, but so does everyone else). I dont think he walks faster but alot of moves come out faster. He has larger hitboxes because his sword's range has been increased. All his non UP-B attacks are leagues better than their older form. His arials are weaker, I guess this is a nerf, but remember that they come out faster. Anyone who says Link is nerfed does not know how to play Link...

Biggest Nerf: Sheik, went from high tier, to lucky if shes better than Zelda. Spacies hit hard to but not as hard.

Biggest Buff: Can't decide between Zelda and Bowser, both very useful now and practically useless before. A Zelda main, I'm biased towards Zelda, but I think Bowser was worse than Zelda in melee and now is about the same level as her (much better than in melee), so mabye he got an overall bigger buff.

EDIT: G&W was worse than Zelda in melee (bottom tier) didn't know that. Yes there are a lot of holes in Zelda's game but she HAD ONLY HOLES IN MELEE, other than her kicks.

oh and btw her fair/uair arn't her only kill moves, though she does require more demanding spacing than most characters, remember that her kicks are much stronger than in melee to compensate, making them the same in melee (which was good). Her uair was not very good at ALL in melee, slow and not much kick, now its faster and has a lot more kick.

You're comparing to other characters, compare her to her useless melee self when your describing buffs and nerfs. Moving on to her nonkick moves, all of them got major buffs, as almost all of them were near useless in melee, they are now useful!

OKay seriously, what is it with people who completely overlook G&W as being the most improved character to return to Brawl?

G&W was lower tiered than Zelda. They're both really good in Brawl, but G&W is better. Seriously, if you're going to say Zelda is most improved, then just replace "Zelda" with "G&W". >_>

Seriously, G&W is top tier material. That's how improved he is.

I actually agree with most of what you say, but there is no way that G&W's down+b is as good a counter to projectiles as Lucas' 1.5x healing monster.

Anyway, my list. This is from watching a bunch of videos and is not based on any actual gaming experience whatsoever, so don't pay too much attention to me. I'm mainly just posting this so I can look back later and see how wrong I was.

Most buffed: G&W, Zelda
Most nerfed: Ganon, Shiek, Captain Falcon
Most unchanged: Marth (yes I know his f-smash in nerfed but he seems just about the same in terms of tiers), Mario

Okay, I can see indeed why Lucas's healing is probably too good in those matchups.

I'm still going to emphasize, G&W's Down B *****. It's way too strong in Brawl. It kills at very very low percentages. Something like Pit's arrows kills at 60%. Din's Fire a 0%. It's mad awesome. Like Lucas's Down B, it is a very legitimate reason not to spam at G&W. Did I mention that the collecting range of the attack is broken and that it has reduced lag?

Most of you are saying one character got buffed while others say the exact opposite. I don't think anyone got nerfed or buffed. I think they got CHANGED. (Except G&W, there's no arguing that he got buffed.)

Biggest BUFF?

Isaac "Dr Size" Nesser has the worlds largest muscular chest and arms in the world, according to The Guinness Book of World Records! 74 inch chest, 29 arms, he weighs 362lbs, bench presses 825lbs and he is completely drug free.

But back on topic, yeah, Fox isn't really nerfed. His uSmash and uAir are still very strong. You guys are comparing %'s to Melee and in Brawl people can live up to 150%. His fAir is a kill move and I use it to KO past 110%. Now with the 0 attack lag (auto l-cancel) his nAir and dAir are extra deadly for combos. His uTilt is even more ridiculous since it'll help people in front of him. And he, I believe, has the shortest pre-attack, faster than Sonic, though Sonic can run faster. His stats have been "rearranged". Some moves are weaker and some moves are stronger. nAir is much weaker, but dAir is incredibly strong, then uAir then fAir. uSmash, dSmash then fSmash. He can so many combo properties now. His dTilt isn't great for knockback but better for combos since it'll put your opponent suspended in front for a fAir or drill combo. And the Drillkick is so broken now. You can do DrillKick into dSmash without your opponent able to avoid the dSmash. That's about 35% right there.

Watch these videos if you don't believe me and really check out how much the uTilt and dSmash rack up %s.

My account also has a bunch of Fox dittos, but dittos are not the best indication of how he compares to other characters. It does show some good combos.

Wow... just wow... you sure do know a lot about SSBB /sarcasm

1.If you think Bowser is worse than his melee form then there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with you.

2.I'm not even sure marth got buffed overall at all, EVEN IF HE DID, how are his buffs more serious than Zelda and G&W who went from BOTTOM TIER to atleast MID TIER, Marth was at high tier, and probably will stay there.

but once again thats not the point, though marth was one of the least changed characters, I'm pretty sure he was nerfed more than buffed. His speed was buffed but he lost almost all of his insane melee comboes, his range is shorter, and is recovery his weak now. They definately arn't serious nerfs but he was NERFED NOT BUFFED.

It got nerfed, but was it ever really that viable of a move in the first place (besides 2 v 2)? Plus, it puts a cute little flower on their heads to embarrass them.
Um...yes! But only if you wanted to win tournaments.

Buff: G&W
Nerf: Peach/Falcon/Ganon

Meh, I'd say sheik got the biggest nerf, she's gotten slower and less awesome.

I'd give the greatest buff to young-toon link.

Biggest Nerf: Captain Falcon and Ice Climbers

The Ice climbers nerf comes mostly from the lack of WD'ing and Chain throwing and was a consequenct to the new game but Captain lost comboes, quickness and they even lowered the Raptor boost's already low priority...WTF?!?!?

Biggest Buff: Kirby, Pikachu
Kirby who was previously the third worst cahracter in the game and is now viable for high tier, Pikachu also very similar considering these were arguably the 2 most nerfed characters from SSB64 to SSBM
