The fact that it's almost here. At its core, Smash is a celebration of everything nintendo. We only get a smash game once per console generation and smash 4 is looking like the biggest, most comprehensive fiesta yet. Through all of the talk about gameplay mechanics, character cuts, competitive viability, and speculation, we kind of lose sight of what the game is originally intended to be: a celebration of Nintendo's most treasured franchises. And the next installment is almost here!

I'm excited. It's an exciting time.

The best part about Smash Bros 4 is that it exists.

The best aspect of the game is probably how different it feels from previous entries. People like to call "Brawl 2.0" but in reality it plays more like 64 imho. Anyway, this game is a new fresh experience that I think any fan from all the games can enjoy.

One thing I forgot to mention:

Characters like :4yoshi: are actually competitively viable now. All this time I was trying to rely on being a specialist like Amsa, but now I don't have to be quite so hopeless :p

And :4lucario:'s aura mechanic is actually going to have a noticeable effect now. I'm definitely keeping a pocket Lucario because getting a tiny lead that I can escalate into a 4-stock as long as I keep recovering is going to be a fun challenge.

The best aspect of the game is probably how different it plays and feels from any other entry in the series. People (especially Melee enthusiasts) like to call this game "Brawl 2.0" and that is definitley not the case. The game is going to be a new fresh experience that I think any fan of the other titles can enjoy, just because its unique and distinct play style.

Custom movesets. There is so much potential for every character now.
Except most likely custom movesets will only ever be used for casual play because I doubt the team working on Smash 4 has taken the time to attempt to balance what's supposed to be a broken piece of the game anyways. Still probably going to be fun testing out different options though.

I believe no tripping was the good deal working for me. That alone makes me excited to come back playing. And hearing that most defensive mechanics are cut down a bit makes the idea of it being less campy than Brawl. Overall, it's going on a decent approaching of being competitively viable. And not to mention, being portable makes those long rides to places a much relaxing when you can't play it on the console.

Personal thought, Midna in as an AT. So it's a start for her for a possible playable character in future Smash Bros games (assuming her popularity will improve as well). But I tell ya, she quite a hand full in this one.

For me it's the new focus on primary colours for the colour scheme. I absolutely love the fact that they're moving away from the more gritty look of Brawl and focusing on giving the whole game a more appealing, vibrant look. I enjoyed the direction they took Brawl's art at first, but after a few years of being subjected to it, it's become very dull.

I'm also a big fan of the changes they've made to the veterans, to the point where I get just as excited to see them in action as I do newcomers. Having mained Wario in Brawl, I can't wait to see if they'll make any changes to him in this game, and seeing and feeling what they've done to Bowser makes me really excited to get to play as him again past the Best Buy demos.

They're fulfilling everything I hoped for and then some.

Little Mac, Palutena, Pac-man, Mega Man!! There's only a few more characters I want, but I'm completely glad with what we have now and wouldn't throw a fit if this was it. They're adding so much variety with every new character.

I was so sad that we got Wireframe Mac, because I thought that meant no Pink Sweat Suit, but it turns out there is!! HYES!

I was actually really hoping for star KOs to be removed when the timer was too low. That's always a hype killer, even for the one getting KO'd.

The best part for me is the principle. The principle encompasses both gameplay and characters, and really, I think we can all agree that it's just so much fun to duke it out as some of the best characters in video gaming.

that its a new game and that 3DS means smash on the go. Always a way to play between tournament sets. Never have to wait for a setup to play friendlies.

Another thing: the GameCube Controller Adapter.

I'm willing to play with other controllers, but I'm so glad that Smash prompted Nintendo to make it because this isn't the only GC-compatible game that I play.

F-Zero X. Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Super Street Fighter II. I can finally play them comfortably again.

Pac-Man, Mario, Mega Man, and Sonic all being in the same game. It doesn't get much more iconic than that.

That I'll get to relive the glorious experience that is playing Smash Bros once more in a brand new setting. I've loved a lot of games in my time, but regardless of how meaningful the storyline or addictive the game-play I'd still come back to Smash in the end because of it's limitless replay value. I can't think of any other gaming experience that has created more fond memories or lasting friendships for me. These games bring people together, and, yes, this means that they are capable of raising our overall quality of life. Too much? I couldn't care less. :p ****ING MARIO, MEGA MAN, SONIC, LINK, DONKEY KONG, CHARIZARD, AND PAC-MAN BEING IN THE SAME GAME MAKES THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE OKAY?!

Keep up the positivity! I grow so tired of cynicism, and needed a thread like this!

Being everything Brawl should have been competitively speaking while also carving out its own spot in the franchise so that it doesn't feel like a retread of any of the three past games is universally the best part for just about all of us smashers I think :) Oh and custom movesets should be interesting to watch grow in competitive play so long as TO's and pro smashers deem at least 90% of the move variants and entirely different moves viable.

Another good thing: the ability to buy it in the eShop.

I kept losing my Brawl disk and I broke my Melee disk from playing it so much. (I got a new one, but still.)

Once I have it, I'll have it forever.

I think the best part of this for me is actually being involved in the community before the game comes out. I only just bought Melee last year, I don't own a Nintendo 64, and for the longest time my mom wouldn't let me get Brawl. Regardless of all the annoying flame wars, bitter debates, and sometimes general frustration, I'm really enjoying just being involved in the community waiting for this game to come out.

The best moment for me so far was the Fire Emblem reveal trailer. Couldn't believe what I was seeing and couldn't help but express this by loudly repeating "OH MY GOD" while the rest of my family was asleep nearby. Most hype 3 minutes of recent memory.

With regards to the actual gameplay:
- The newcomers. Every single one is awesome in my eyes.
- Graphics and colours look gorgeous in motion.
- 3DS version. Playing Smash during my daily 2 hour bus trips is a dream come true.

Best Part?!

Where do I begin?!?!

Mii Fighters, Custom Movesets, the Amiibo inclusion and how they handled that, the potential for more characters via DLC, alternate costumes, Mega Man, Pac Man, Smash Run...the list just goes on and on!

For me it has to be the for glory mode. I'm really not into inviting people over to play games or whatever really, so having that option to just play randoms in 1v1 matches with no bs online is just great. Here's hoping the netcode is actually good this time around all will be perfect for me.

I'm actually glad how they went for the FD only and didn't implement some crazy tourny draft pick nonsense or something to please the tournament players. I want to go from match to match when playing online and some sort of match selecting process would've just been an unnecessary link in the chain that would rack a lot of wasted time in the long run. Select a character and go, just the way I like it. FD having multiple is a briljant idea as well, really gonna lengthen the longevity of the for glory mode.

Probably all of the amazing newcomers we're getting. With each reveal trailer, I just get more and more excited to be able to play with each new character.

Where do I start?
The graphics and art style I absolutely love.
Even if I don't like some of the newcomers for their characters I still think their move sets look great and I think I will enjoy playing them (except for :4lucina: because marth clone).
The different types of online modes and the fact that people can get banned/suspended now when appropriate (I don't remember that being in Brawl).
the stages so far also look great!

But so far I think my absolute favorite part of Smash 4 is the custom move sets. They open up so much opportunity for different playstyles and allows the character to feel more like your own. Also it might help certain characters become more viable.
