Best Order to Learn ATs?

What, in your opinion, would be the best order to learn advanced techniques? While practicing various ATs I found myself wondering if I should really be learning, say, Z-cancel at that particular time or if I'd be better off practicing another AT first. I'm not opinionated on this, but I figured it would be an interesting topic for discussion.

Short Hop -> Z Cancel -> Z Cancel + Short hop -> Z Cancel + Short hop + Attack -> Play some matches -> Kill setups -> Combos -> Play some matches -> Combos -> Play some matches -> Realize that its easier to grabkill than combokill -> become a grab*** -> ??? -> Profit

If you play kirby
Don't move -> Spam uptilt facing away from opponent -> followup with bair + edgeguard

BUT WAIT!!!! Where does DJC come into play? That's only for some characters but for those characters it would be an important thing to learn. Just learn it after Z-Cancel + Short hop + Attack?

lol, Peeks list is pretty good, but instead of becoming a grab *****, simply learn how to incorprate them into your game/combos or even as finshers

Maybe after play some matches.

And Surri, I'm pretty sure Peek was semi-kidding. :p Either way, grab kills ARE easier, but you need to rack up that damage. >_<

i know, thats why I laughed :p

Grabs dont only have to be used as killers though, throwing off the stage then edge gaurding works wonders...people hate it...but then again people hate losing

I only really saw Yoshi's grabs put to good use in edgeguarding. Taking advantage of landing lag, then throw them off again. Sheer did that fine.

He'd dash dance at the edge and pretty much **** any attempt I made to get back to the stage.

And I laughed too. Well, inside, I was taught not to laugh at the internet. I was always scolded when I did that.

Why learn to short hop first?
I can understand learning to sh first for characters who don't need to Z-cancel, but for the rest of the cast, short hopping is utterly useless on its own, because the landing lag from a lack of Z-canceled aerials will leave you open for shield grabs and whatnot.
If you learn to Z-cancel first, at least you can incorporate it into a real match to some degree with full jump fastfall aerials.

plus SHing is much easier to learn than z-canceling... remembering to press z all the time is harder at first compared to lightly tapping a button instead of pressing it normally

i think in one day you can learn SHing, but z-canceling needs to become a habit you can never shake

Winston stickhops because the How to Play tutorial in SSB never told him you could use the buttons to jump
