Who is Willy?
Willy is the jazz-playing protagonist of the 1991 platformer Rockin' Kats - inspired by classic cartoons, Willy uses a punch gun (a pistol that shoots fists, because of course) to fight Mugsy the bulldog and his gangster underlings to rescue his girlfriend Jill.
Why should Willy be in Smash?
Objectively he probably shouldn't, but he'd at least bring along a cool stage.
What would Willy do in Smash?
Well, he has a gun that can shoot fists. He can pogo; swing; and grab with it (as well as punches of course) and upgrade it to shoot projectiles or even replace it with a spiked ball - he also has jet boots that slow his descent.
