We can't help through words on the internet...you need to physically practice.

Get comfortable with layups, make them routine. <-- See how my advice isn't helping. This is something your body has to learn to do physically, just practice.

If you really need help practice and perfect these:
1. Dribbling skills
2. Layups
3. Freethrows

those are the only things you would do individually in tryouts haha so if you are lazy and dont want to learn how to shoot then when doing 3 on 2 drills just keep passing (unless you can do a layup)

1. Get off the internet. Training for bball isnt always like training for smash: you can just watch videos and mimic people because there is the physical strength/height/etc aspects to bring into that.
2. Practice Layups, dribbling, shooting, etc.

Also, depends on which position youre trying out for.
Guards need more dribbling and passing than forwards or centers. (Especially point guards). Forwards need more shooting strength.

I'm pretty short, but when I used to play I worked my but off to set-up and get as much possession as I could.
Lol we can't really do much except tell you to practice.
