A creeper assist trophy would be a very welcome addition. A minecraft character would not.

I would be surprised if a Minecraft character wouldn't be welcomed by a lot of people, the hate actually seems like a minority.

Not that it matters, since B-K would be welcomed and bashed on as well. Both games have their fans and anti-fans but the bashing from some people still hurts even if they're a minor part of the community; seriously having an opinion is fine, but dang people take it too far.

Pretty much any newcomer is gonna have their fans and their detractors. I've seen plenty of people hate on Banjo & Kazooie for reasons we've talked about before (irrelevancy, dead franchise, too goofy as characters or style, only for older fans, people who haven't played their games before, etc.), you're gonna get that no matter what. It's like they say, you can please some people some of the time, but you can't please all the people all the time. Makes me feel bad for Sakurai and his crew, trying to make a fun balanced game with a soon to be 80 playable character roster almost all of whom are diverse in style and gameplay cannot be an easy task whatsoever. But them's the brakes when you create the biggest video game crossover ever conceived I suppose!

I didn't like how low quality it was. I couldn't find a higher quality version of it. People expect high quality Pooh Bear holding a smash invitation avatars. And I will deliver. As you can see I am trying to get more creative.

The biggest knock against a playable Steve is, IMO, the music. If you look at how many tracks came with Mementos and try to get even half of that for a Minecraft stage, you'll be hard-pressed to do so. We're talking about Smash-worthy jams here, not ambient background sound.

That alone is enough to convince me that Steve isn't in outside of a very possible Mii Swordfighter outfit.

Banjo-Kazooie, on the other hand, is a gold mine of tunes that would be appropriate for Smash.

While I agree Banjo-Kazooie would be easier to get music for, since it's pretty obvious what to do without having to think, for Minecraft they could just remix some of the music or take the battle music from the console editions.

Though personally I think some of the normal music, despite being calm, could still fit. It's not like Cloud came with a big selection. Maybe take music disc tracks, Nether music(?), certain Creative mode music, or whatever they want to do. They could even make a remixed medley, though personally I wouldn't mind battling to the standard music.

Yeah I agree, let's be the bigger people here and not ****post. I'd like to keep stuff relegated to Banjo & Kazooie's future with Nintendo, why they are so fun and influential as characters and games, and the hope of a playable appearance in Smash, ports or remasters of their games on the Switch and Xbox, or a new sequel (unlikely but still, never say never!)

So, Banjo & Kazooie are gonna die destroying Steve?

As for hate, it should be noted the difference between hating on a character and genuine criticism. As an example, there are many people who hate Banjo & Kazooie without knowing anything about them (e.g., we already got Duck Hunt), contrasted with those who have reasons they don't think Banjo & Kazooie would make a good character (e.g., they're an irrelevant dead franchise). I can't imagine a valid reason, but have to accept the subjectivity of the matter and simply express my own for why Banjo & Kazooie are the perfect Smash characters. I have many criticisms of Steve, though I've already made them known, and don't even want to be perceived as hating. I'd rather just support the bear and bird.

September 5th, 2018. I believe the Grinch leak happened around Mid November. It wouldn't surprise me if word of Vergeben's "leaks" bled over to Japan.
