I was trying this today and only got it to work a few times. Does it only spike with the energy reaches his foot?

I think it just knocks them back. It seems that it knocks them back in the air too if you don't spike them correctly.

Hm... I watched this vid when this thread was first posted, but we hadn't found out about the reduced knockback of spammed moves yet. The only move used in that video was bair, which means that a "fresh" bair must have absolutely incredible knockback, meaning as long as they didn't meteor cancel (wait, was it ever confirmed whether this was a meteor or not?) it's pretty much a guaranteed KO if you can pull it off at any percent, or at least starting at really low ones, anyway.

Uhm... I'm pretty sure that this is Training Mode, and the Stale Moves effect doesn't appear there, so what we see is correct.

Now, Bair spike is awesome, since I finally got the timing down to pull it off most of the time. Against people that come from right below the stage, you can just run off the stage and Bair them down, works great against Fox/Falco.

I think its the last hexagon that goes straight below Lucas and the the animation of Lucas doing the bair when his leg is pointing an angle that has the meteor effect. I think the Dojo said it was a meteor. The timing isn't that hard, but a smart player would probably see it coming and just airdodge if you rely on the bair too much. Obviously mix up your edgeguards since Lucas has a lot of movesets for that.

For what it's worth, stale moves took effect in Melee training mode iirc.

Very nice move though. Is it just me or do the non-meteor hits "drag" the victim into the meteor hit?
