Dthrow has less ending lag for Marth than Bthrow does and therefore generally better at lower percents. Debatable at higher percents.

But, you should really be Uthrowing them.

Low percentages and not near the edge you should Uthrow them
Near an edge you can Dthrow -> Dtilt/Fsmash or tech chase

I usually just Bthrow in high percentages (>100%), if they DI towards you, you can land a Fsmash, its a good option when you are in the middle of the stage, Uthrow wont lead you to anything, Fthrow can lead you to tipper if they DI into you. Dthrow in high percentages only near the edge cause they will escape easily and you won't connect anything.

Should you now!?

yes let's just ignore all situational parameters and ALWAYS up throw all the time

D-throw> B-throw in most situations though.

Marths like to fall in love with up-throw to a fault

At higher percent if you back throw a space animal near the ledge and they DI in you can Ftilt tipper them.
