B-b-but the Ice Climbers always bully me. T_T

I can't seem to win the Ice Climbers when playing as Sheik... their Smashes are unstoppable + their scary grabs! T_T Yeah I know recovery is their problem but it's still very hard to rack dmg on them. How do you all beat these climbers anyway? They're like Sheik's hardest matchup!

sheik ***** ICs.

space. short hop fair and ftilt. combined with needles and bair, it's the whole matchup. don't ever get grabbed, which means don't dsmash or dash attack, and don't throw out any unspaced move. it's so easy to **** nana and kill her quickly. then just play smartly and kill popo.

Smashes you really shouldn't get hit by. Shoot needles and try to hit both Climbers if you're attacking them so the remaining one doesn't smash you and you should be okay.

Grabs also shouldn't be too much of a problem. The IC's are really slidey, so just hit their shield hard and push them back. Don't use anything too laggy, though, otherwise they can wavedash out of their shield and grab you. Although Sheik doesn't really have any laggy moves anyway.

Also, don't dash attack or get in the midst of the IC's.

Just fair the tips of our shield and then get the hell away, watch the youtube video PC Chris vs Cort where cort is IC and PC is Sheik, that'll give you a good idea of how to beat them, I think the video is actually called shiek counters ice climbers. Anyways if you get grabbed just be ready to die.

Thanks a lot guys! I'll try all these when I get to fight ICs again! Their smashes do 40% dmg if fully hit. >< and I thought they were cute.....oh wait, they ARE cute~!! Makes me wanna kill them more!

Oh yeah, if they try to dthrow dair you into another grab, Smash DI out of it.

Basically, wiggle your Control Stick along the left/right side of its little octagonal cradle.

cstick away, buffer roll out of dair regrab.

platform camp, and space, generic sheik style.

i like autocancel fairs to bait them into running into a ftilt, or sh waveland back

with IC's I prefer to only shoot one needle, so it separates them... Do a Bair WoP instead of a fair WoP, longer range so they don't get those grabs off....

forward tilts/ all aerials / d-smash/down tilts/ needles/

all these pretty much desync the IC but watch out for down air/nair if you see them coming at you and ur low % CC it and d-smash /tilts it stops them pretty baddly since nana will get stuck in the tilts for a while.

yeah only ever shoot one needle at them.

at low percentages play super super super safe and only hit them if you know they can't cc grab or cc dsmash it. that's mostly just needles and spaced fairs and bairs. after that you can start comboing freely and breaking them up. but just play safe and don't play aggressively when you know they can spam a dsmash and potentially get away with it. don't get grabbed or smashed often and it's over very shortly. oh, don't get caught without your second jump.
