NOTE: This is NOT a ban-Metaknight debate, but rather an idea to help the metagame

I will make references to 'sides' of the argument, but it extends to anyone.

This mostly goes to the anti-ban people, since this would help their case a bit (??).

So Metaknight pretty much destroys bad players and/or players who don't know how to fight him.

Picking MK supposedly gives you the auto-win, or at least easy-win against people you might almost have to try against if you had used your main.

The problem is, in general, it's those people who will cry to ban Metaknight as much as possible.

The usual retort by anti-ban people is to "get better". But what exactly does that mean?

- Smart SDI
- Knowing how to punish OoS (especially moves that require almost-instant reactions, like Tornado/Shuttle Loop/mis-spaced F-air)
- How to deal with F-air, Shuttle Loop, D-smash, Tornado.
- Smart DI when being juggled/thrown (away from MK)
- Smart DI when being launched for a kill (up/towards stage?)

These, among other things.

---------------------------
So here is my proposal:
---------------------------

Create a video that showcases how to deal with specific moves/strategies.

You can take from the list up there, or even do a bit of 'pick and choose', and choosing significant points from this thread:

or even this post (this is just a preview)
Kays, firstly, IMO, to beat Metaknight, you need to be at least as technical as the MK player. If you can't press buttons or react as fast as they can change up their attack patterns, you're probably screwed, and should work on getting more fluid. You can't be a lil slowbie and keep complaining that metaknight's too good. You have to know the counters to his stuff as well as he knows to pull them off, and be able to see when you're figured out.
There's a lot of technical aspects you're gonna need for this matchup, since meta can be offensive in every way any other character can pressure you in this game XD. Metaknights have the luxury of being fluid the second they pick up the character. With other characters you have to learn their moves and quirks without everything kinda being handed... so guess how much more fun you can have by not playing as MK ;p, you get to discover stuff. .. >.>

You need to be able to notice when they fair your shield too closely, and be able to jump into a nair or whatever counterattack quickly and efficiently, you have to be able to take grab opportunities with ninja like reflexes and accuracy, react to his attacks as soon as you notice he can pull them off (That stuff starts in liek 5 frames ), and not flub up your reactions. Match-up knowledge and just knowing your character inside out helps immensely.

Whether it's staging examples for newbies, or taking clips of people punishing moves in actual battle, either one works.

People complain about how the metagame stagnates because of Metaknight, yet people still die to bad DI, people still think D-smash is unpunishable, and people still think that Tornado is a brick wall.

I'm not contesting these claims on a high level, but at the LEAST, give the lower level people visual aid lol.

So how about it? Beginner-intermediate level "how to deal with Metaknight's moves" video?

Anyone?

This is a good idea and I hope someone with video editting equipment and a recording device will do this. I'm interested in seeing how to deal with MK.
