Hey all!

I've been aspiring at making the switch to Peach for a while now, so it becomes my main instead of Falcon, but for some reason I can't quite get the hang of her as much as I would like to.

Problem is, it's definitely the kind of character I would like to play so I want to main her.

I've recorded some random friendly matches with a playing partner and I would like if some of you experienced Peach players out there could point out to me what's wrong. :p

Yes I know that my edgeguarding game blows, but that will come with time. I missed several opportunities, and now that I'm watching from afar I can tell when. The problem lies in my game in general, as far as strategies and spacing are concerned, and I wonder if nobody can pinpoint any bad stuff they see in there. :p (or better plays, but those must be swarming all over the place!)

Here are the 2 matches

Thanks in advance! Constructive criticism welcomed.

when edgeguarding don't be afraid to go out there and chase them. You can float off screen, Nair, then float/jump back. downsmash on the ledge spikes them too when they're recovering from below. They'll either tech it and set themselves up for more free damage or not tech it and get spiked.

Nair also beats fox/falco forward B every time. Their character hitbox is in front of the forward B hitbox. Another great reason to do instant float Nairs.

Fast fall your arials and float cancles and instant float in to arials more. Instant float Nair is the lawnmower and you can do it in to downsmashes or downtilts to combo or make it less punishable..

Use turnips to cover your approaches. Peach's simplest approach is short hop turnip, Nair, downsmash if they don't shield, grab if they do shield..

When you downsmash space animals and falcon you can usually downsmash another 1-3 times depending on how they DI. it's called the Whore-nado for a reason.

Chaingrab fastfallers (upthrow) when you're not near the platforms for free damage.

You also should stop standing idle. You should always be pulling turnips, approaching, pressuring, camping, or running away. Never stand still.

Wow thanks man for the complex and most useful reply.

I just realized following your comment that I mostly never fast-fall my FC aerials. That's really bad. I'll start practicing that right away.

I won't just comment on every useful tips, as I will work on adding them in my game. Thanks a lot!

I will post another duel sooner or later with, I hope, improved skills!
