It's come to my awareness that a certain user, Darkstar has repeatingly posted art that isn't his. It appears to often be his little siblings. I don't understand why they'd even post it here, but the excuse has been used to the point where maybe you should start logging off your account?

This thread was apparently created by his siblings. Only "some" of it was his.

Okay, so theres just the spots I noticed. But I decided to look even deeper.

Do you see anything fishy with how he names his emoticons? He must be one hell of an emoticon maker if he's prenumbering all the way to make room for 9999! Sad0037? Where are the other 36!? I'd love to see them! Luckily he didn't even bother changing the name on the generated images when saving them. At least we can confirm he used the emoticon maker for three of his emoticons.



Darkstar is an art thief at best, with an overused - now unbelievable excuse. If your siblings keep posting artwork and you're getting the blame, maybe you should start logging off SWF? Who knows what else their doing on other websites or other accounts of yours if they have the time to try to get you in trouble in an art subforum of a gaming community.......

I tried to bring this up with Neon Ness and another member of this board. Nothing seems to be done about it, so instead of letting you all look into the issue I did the digging for you.

I don't trust displaying my work when there is someone knowingly stealing others' art amongst us.

Now please Darkstar, want to try explaining yourself out of this hole?


If you can't, I want Neon Ness to go ask staff to get you room banned; at the very least. Since you don't seem to be a problem elsewhere on the site.

Well, I wanted to write you a response, but it wouldn't let me send you any messages for some reason. Dx

I'm well aware of DarkStar's shenanigans. First time was inexcusable, and I told him/her to be more careful about allowing siblings to use their account (if that was really the case... decided to let it slide). And I did warn them in the sprite thread, I just wanted to give them a 2nd chance since it looked like they had actually made them on a sprite customizing site. I didn't want to do anything really drastic (dreaded you-know-what) until a 3rd offense. Maybe I'm too lenient, who's to say. But since I'm the only active mod here I acted how I thought would be the most fair.

I was hoping DarkStar would shape up over time if given some preliminary warnings. I can see where you're coming from, in that you want to nip this in the bud before more stuff is stolen, I just believe in 2nd chances. Like I said, though, if it happens a 3rd time it's over, period.

I also sort of wish you hadn't made an entire thread, since there's not much else to say. DarkStar apologized and said it wouldn't happen again, but only time will tell if that's the case. I'll leave it open for now, but I just don't care for any drawn out drama.

I alone have seen it three times in just one thread. Especially since it's always his siblings (such an easy excuse to use and so easily avoidable by logging out)

He's only posted 3 emoticons that were actually "his" (using a generator is pretty debatable to giving ownership of something) and the rest were stolen. He then posted them later and tried to pull it off as his (they were stolen), and he tried a third time and... low and behold it's the same stolen ones.

Also trying to call someone out after being called out is a frequently used "my hands aren't red, but are yours?" to try and shrug off suspicion.

I'm looking into his post history too at the moment.....

Why isn't he keeping the ones he supposedly made up? By removing everything (which is usually pretty good art) and saying some of it was his - this seems as a grab for the respect for the art. "Some of it was mine" is a grab for the attention/respect.

I count the art gallery thread as the 1st offense, and the sprite thread as the 2nd offense.

The images posted in the CnC topic were the same ones as the gallery thread where they apologized, so I grouped them together, since they are essentially one "act of theft" just posted in 2 locations.

Not sure what post history has to do with anything? We're talking about art theft in this AE, anything else isn't my jurisdiction. I've read every post by them in the AE, they haven't posted in Brawl Ness so that's irrelevant.

Found further evidence. Also stolen art should bother you. Whether or not it's inside this forum or not he is an art thief. Is this an art forum for your own work or do I misunderstand what this forum is for? I'm also pretty sure the others' will feel the same way I do towards this.

I hold a ZERO TOLERANCE rule on art theft on my art forums. It is not something to be taken lightly. I could understand if it really was his brothers - but the evidence is stacking the other way.

In my eyes, he's an art thief. Nothing will change that now. Way to much evidence against him, always the same excuse, and he's constantly trying to get admiration for being "so good at only 14". He throws his age around whenever he gets the chance with the stolen art he posts.

That much is a lot harder to find, but there always is the possibility. I wouldn't put it past someone who has repeatingly stolen art off the front page search results of deviantArt - and been caught multiple times for it...

I used to go all over every major graphics site (not sure if you've heard of them, but I was a Masterwork Family member. +mw), I'd catch art thieves just like this one... usually because I'd see a signature on one site, see it on another under a different username, and question the user where I first saw it at - who would confirm it was his. (Usually done by showing ownership of the .psd file, when the other person is unable to provide it)

But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, even when he's far beyond the point of deserving that.

No, it does bother me, make no mistake. I only added the jurisdiction thing in because I saw no reason for them to post art outside of the AE, and didn't expect there to be any other offenses that I hadn't seen.

But I had no idea they would go and post it in the "Rate the Avatar" thread. So that pretty much does it.

And no, you don't misunderstand what this forum is for.

This will be resolved shortly.

*coughs* Twice in the "Rate the Avatar" thread. The second time (first? I didn't bother checking post times) he stated it was his, and he was working on a manga.

If you check the dA account I linked to of the girls drawing, she's stating she's working on a manga.. not only stole the art, stole the reason for making it and kept the art name? That's just about as stupid as you can get....

Good, and thank you. Let me know when it is by giving this thread it's final word and closing it. (Unless you think discussion about the matter after the issue is resolved is good. Personally, I don't... I just made this thread to point out the facts and get him out of here)
